Hyacinth should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
A reminder for whoever can get CBS -

David Coulthard is scheduled as one of David Letterman's guests on the Late Show, Monday 6-12 at 11:35 PM Eastern. And to round out the week, Obi-Juan Montoya AND Naomi Campbell are scheduled for Thursday the 15th. Wonder if Flavio will be keeping her company?

We'll probably read in Autosport next week that JPM was seen talking to Flavio and that he's as good as signed with Benetton for next year. Don't ya just LOVE Silly Season!

What language will they be speaking? I imagine most of the conversation would be "What?" "Pardon me?" "Could you repeat that please?"

Thank the Fates for a guy like Letterman who knows and appreciates motorsport. Now, if we could just get him to book some blues acts . . . .

I must admit I can't stand David Letterman and I only watch his show if there is somebody good on it. Usually there isn't. But I guess tonight's an exception.

It's on tonight. We'll report!

Top Ten Things Jacques says to Mika:

10. "Who does your hair?"
9. "Ron says you won't have to shave, in case it ever becomes necessary for you to think about that."
8. "David says he was only kidding."
7. "Heidi says she was only kidding."
6. "When does Erja get her glasses?"
5. "I can run faster than you can. In fact, I can run faster than you can drive."
4. "We'd love to have you as a neighbour in Monaco but we're all sold out.
3. "Is this your jump rope?"
2. "Mind if I play through?"

And the number one thing Jacques says to Mika:

1. "Phone, Mika, says he's from Minardi!"

Well that was not too awfully bad. DC, like Jacques, looked embarassed and unsure of what he was supposed to be doing, and Letterman tried to make him do comedy without a lot of success. . . DC looked a lot thinner in civilian clothes, and a lot younger - maybe that was just his being next to Letterman.

Good thing it wasn't Mika. He would have been completely at sea.

I thought it went pretty well. Letterman is pretty notorious for making people look foolish on his show, but I think the race fan was there in Letterman more than the comedic personality. DC did look thin in street clothes, but he also was nearly as tall as Letterman which surprised me. DC was also pretty candid about the questions concerning Schumacher and Hakkinen. He did comment that he was interested in racing in Champ Cars in the future after his F1 career is over. I also thought he did a good job trying to explain why he believes that F1 is the pinnacle in motor racing. Letterman asked him why it costs so much to race in F1 and DC commented it was all about driver salaries. It was interesting but far too short.

I've got it taped, but haven't had a chance to see it yet. I guess they didn't use my Top Ten lists.

I finally got to see it.
Letterman was very gracious, and DC was actually looser than I expected-I think his attempts at humour were spontaneous and actually funny and a little rude. Letterman asked him if he had ever sneezed in the cockpit and he said "No, but if you mut pass wind, you can only do it on the straight, never in the turns."

I would say it was a good interview and at least exposes F1 to a larger audience in the States.
