Value of sponsorship deals
Does anyone by any chance have a rough idea of the value of sponsorship deals in the IRL (for a top team like AGR)? I can't seem to find it anywhere, although I can understand why this kind of stuff isn't in the public domain.

The AGR Motorola deal for Patick was rumoured to be 6 million US a season, one of the largest in the league according Miller

Not trying to bring anything down, just commenting on whats occuring.
I think Miller would have pretty good contacts in regards to such as matter |

...and he is also very open in his hatred of the IRL
which completley devalues anything he says because of his bias we've been through this before, Miller is not a reliable source for IRL news like i said and so have many others, it's time he got his pipe and slippers and gave it up |

He isn't stradlin I agree, however I think its more down to IMS and Tony than the actual league itself. Along with the current state of both CC and IRL and not working for Indystar or champcar.ws but just for Speed he can say what he wants and its usually down to his care of AOWR and seeing how lame it is right now that he says what he feels because he cares. I mean he is still bothering to cover AOWR!

some of his reports over the years have been borderline embarrasing to read being an OW fan
he bias knows no bounds and I find some of his articles to be a complete joke how the man gets a job is beyond me, i guess he's just good for entertainment purposes but like i said. to have someone like him reporting on OW racing is embarrasing to all, it's a shame Last edited by stradlin21; 5 Nov 2007 at 00:38. |

Whatever stradlin.
It has widely been reported outside of miller, that 7-11 pays about $6 mil a year, motorola $7 million, ethanol $5 million, others a lot less, in the case of Vision $0. Marlboro used to pay about $22 million a year for penske. I'm sure there is some variation in exact numbers but that is probably ball park. |

He is what he is, a editorialist, nothing more, nothing less. Some times he's right, sometimes wrong. Isn't this thread about value of sponsorships, not robin miller. I thought so. |
