Great pictures Kelvin.
On the subject of photos, I have a couple of questions for everyone. How many films, do you get through on a race day and approximately how much is the processing? I limit myself to just four rolls of 36 exps, but I could easily take loads more. What with pit-lane walkabout, paddock, 2 BTCC races and their podiums, but the cost of processing would make it very expensive. Thanks |

This weekend I used 4 rolls, being very careful, knowing how trigger happy I am!! But I did not photo the Cios, just 2 shots of a BMW, quite a few of the Lotus race because I had to photograph a couple of cars. I also got a formula Renault in the air at Club! When it came to feature race trophy presentaion I had just 5 shots left!!!
I spent 45 quid getting them processed in 1 hour at Boots, print size 9x6 !! Kelvin |

Love the photos Kelvin I've never had photos developed to 9x6 and at that price I don't think I'm ever likely to try it!!!! Our local Boots is hopeless quality for developing, recently I've been using Max Speilman's 1 hour service.
What sort of film are you using? I was quite restrained at Thruxton - just 2 and a half films (amazing how leaving half the film in the car can stop you getting completely snap happy) I've now got a digital camera to ensure I'm not using up film on paddock / people shots anymore Is the airborne Formula Renault pic online anywhere? |

another question, how many people have tried having their photos put onto CD when they're having them developed? If you did, what did you think of it and what did it cost?

Couldn't tell you the exact value, but I think it will be around £5. I would say thats definetely worth it as it saves you going through the process of scanning them all.

I have used the cd service by Colab (www.colab.com) and it is very good and saves a lot of scanning time. You get brilliant jpegs in 5 sizes of each print - large, medium, small and mini - and the viewing software which can be used to crop, resize etc, etc. Extra £6 a disc at the time of processing. The big draw back is that it is only one disc per film! This is where it starts gets very expensive to process the 4+ films + discs. I decided to go back to scanning my own, even though I cannot match their quality.
The other services that I have seen (not tried) offer up to 4 or 5 films per disc at the time of processing - £5 per disc - for one large jpeg of each print. |

Not as airborne as I thought, I think it got more lift after I took the shot, it ended up in tyre wall in front of me, after crossing the circuit in front of all that other traffic!! Kelvin |
