Fire Training - Donington Park
The Midland Region of the Marshals Club is running an evening practical fire training session on Wednesday 20th August. Start 1900, sign-on somewhere in the vicinity of Race Control at the top of Paddock 1. (If not there, information will be available).
Intended for those marshals needing a signature for practical fire training to count on their grading card (Course, incident, rally). We might be able to fit in a few others wanting refresher/reminder experience but no guarantees at the moment. Talk to me nearer the date. After a theoretical talk and discussion of fires and extinguishers and how to check/use them, we move to practical demonstrations using scrap road cars. We aim to give you knowledge and understanding plus the certainty that you can be effective and safe. Please don't just turn up on the night without booking a place first - we had to cancel once and a couple of people who had not given us contact details were very disappointed Names and contact details (saying what you are grading for) to me please by e-mail at Ten@JSMW.org.uk or contact details at www.jsmw.org.uk . Regards Jim Whitaker Midland Region British Motorsport Marshals Club |

Just a quick reply here..........
I would urge everyone who needs a signature to volunteer for this as I have been to one of those fire sessions and can say that they are informative and a very good experience........... Thanx Jim........ |

Jim,
I have made this a 'hot topic' and so it will stay at the top of the page for the time being. I hope the day goes well and would encourage as many marshals as possible to attend! |

The pun police have been notified. You are surrounded. Come out with your word plays up!
Practical fire training is always a good idea - generally you only see it on National Training Days so anyone who has a chance to do this - DO IT! (however, do be careful about how you affix your hat.....) |

If we don't stop all these puns Stephen could get fired from being moderator for allowing us drift off a serious topic! ;-) |

End of hot topic
Thanks for making this a hot topic Stephen; it could come off that list now.
I've had a number of contacts (and some dreadful puns to enjoy!) Thanks Jim |
