Cadillac Grand Prix of Sebring #RespectTheHumidity
IMSA continues the season with the second part of racing in Florida in July.
Quick search looks like this is the first top level sprint race at Sebring since 1997. Interested if that's accurate.. Support series are back in action with Pilot (Friday race) and Prototype (Saturday race) Challenge classes. The Weathertech entry list is a bit of a couple steps back and a few more steps forward with the entry growing from 26 to 29. Mainly due to P2 being included again. Also back is the (rather enjoyable in my opinion) afternoon to dusk format from Daytona. Race start slated for 5:35p barring weather delays and running to 8:15p. With sunset at 8:21, there won't be any proper dark racing, though weather could potentially factor in qualifying, less so for the race. This will also be the competitive debut for the C8r, though the team did some February testing ahead of the postponed March 12Hr race. Schedule Entry List Weather Timing Results page, for anyone interested in comparing July pace to previous March runnings Up next is the Pilot Challenge race this afternoon. GS class looks healthy and varied enough with no single marque appearing ahead of everyone else on pace. TCR is a bit different, with 5 Hyundais at the front of a field consisting of 5 Hyundais and 8 other cars. Another weekend back on track, should be a good'n. Guessing you mean at Sebring for the C8R? Every track left will be the competition debut for it until Sebring at the end of the season. And most definitely respect the humidity. Here in Georgia it's been crazy. Working from home and sitting in the porch ends up with a very wet back in my chair after an hour without a breeze. Swamps of Florida in July seems crazy |

Lol yes I meant competitive sebring debut. You're right about that nugget for here until November sebring, though for some reason it feels significant to mention it for Sebring but not subsequent tracks this season.

True, Sebring is the test. Daytona tested DPs with their CV joints but Sebring tests everything.

OK, got the NBC Track Pass a couple of weeks back (thanks Michelin!) but I can't find the link to the race on the NBC Sports page. Help!

That seems about right for Penske reach and depth.
***Team Penske will be competing in eight different races this weekend, in the only time this year where all five of its motorsports operations (IMSA, IndyCar, NASCAR Cup and Xfinity, Australian Supercars) will be in action on the same weekend. The massive effort accounts for 13 drivers and approximately 39,010 miles of travel, if one could attend all events, beginning travel at Penske’s North Carolina base. (Mooresville -> Iowa -> Sydney -> Texas -> Sebring -> Iowa -> Sydney -> Texas -> Mooresville). And with the number of back markers and sold rides I'm sure there's plenty of seats available to ringers for teams hoping to make some owner points up. But better bring your check book. ***Jordan Taylor revealed that he’s received an offer to drive an ARCA car in next month’s NASCAR triple-header event at Daytona’s Road Course, which has replaced Watkins Glen on its schedule. The Corvette Racing driver said he’s also had a “confusing” offer to take part in the NASCAR Cup Series race and indicated it would require him bringing budget. Both from S365 notebook |

NBC Gold needs to do something to stand out more. I think practice coverage would do that with just the video and engine noise. No commentary needed. Even a replay with no commentary would be awesome for 3rd, 4th, viewings, etc. The practice format for Saturday morning is pretty neat (daytona 240 did this too). Split GTD from GTLM/DPI. I guess if you have the time then do that. |

Hey NASCAR, no one gives a rats hindquarters about the ****** winning again with a team that spends more than everyone else. Your race is done, we don't need to hear how great he is because he's run orders of magnitude more races than anyone else in Busch series. 530 is IMSA time, f the stock cars at Texas, put the rest in Gold and let's go.

imsa.tv doesn't seem to like me anymore.
Once again I am unable to watch their stream. It was no problem last year, and for this years Daytona 24, but for the Daytona 250 it didn't want to work, and it doesn't want to work now either |

It's Covid, are you wearing your mask before you sign in?
And hot there? It's 83 and humid according to WeatherBug. It's 95 and humid at Road Atlanta, rare day it's better to be in Florida than north Georgia |

Man, the 912 must have really had a bad quali lap. They were fast all day but lost the new record to Vette. Made amends QUICKLY though

That pitstop was a mess. 2 messy Corvette drivers, 2 messy Porsche drivers.

All four front running gtlm cars going for the same spot of road on pitlane, 912 loses out.

Yeah but the #3 and #4 playing games is allowed then...
--- #7 back in. Did they not expect him? Seems like the tires were not ready. -- That move by Simpson was disaster looming ... Last edited by gert; 18 Jul 2020 at 22:42. |

What, they were out in the fast lane. And they held up so the first pitted car could get out. They didn't need to move for the 911, it's the merging cars job to get in line safely. That incident was 100% on the 911 coming out hot.
