Jacques and Juan Pablo defend CART...

http://www.cart.com/News/Article.asp?ID=4886

Villeneuve and Montoya know it... CART's much better than the IRL!

I think everyone here knows it too! It's too bad most Americans have the "stadium" mentality. Sitting in a fishbowl watching sport has never done much for me. It's convenient but way too sterile.

That's a great article, which anyone who doubts Cart or actually takes the IRL seriously should read.

It also helps explain to people why Cart fans defend their series so seriously. Although Cart is not on par with Formula One, it is by far the closest in the world to it, and in many ways a better racing series and why we will fight to keep it healthy. Juan and Jacques both explain well.

Geez, JV sure doesn't like the IRL!!

But what they both say is 100% true - the IRL is artificial in every way.

Sometimes it takes real committed racers to spot these things.Victory for the IRL against CART would be victory for show, stage-management and manufactured grandstand finishes. Don't let it happen.

Hell apart from the Indy 500 I doubt anyone will give a sh1t about the races in the IRL next year, the changing face of Cart and the better racing will be more interesting anyway. Nice to see that JV and JPM agree it's ******** too.

I just wish we could lure Zanardi to be the ambassador for Champ Cars. NOBODY would miss Mikey if we had Zanardi.

Does anybody miss Mikey even without Zanardi?

Good article anyway, I wonder what TG and the defectors would think about it

In what way is it not on a par with F1? It's faster, the cars can race and (shock horror) overtake - even on street circuits, the pit stops are more exciting with the limited numbers, the paddock is open and the drivers are approachable. I skipped the GB GP this year, but I was at Rockingham and even saw some drivers smiling. Best of all, there's no Bernie...

You're right! Given the choice betweeb an all expenses payed trip to a Cart race in the US, Mexico or around the world or a GP in Europe, I'd definately take the Cart race!

Especially not with those drivers. Dario has only had one win on an oval in his entire career and Tony has only won one RACE in his whole career.

Mikey's taking poor Honda's money and is gonna make them look stupid.

Dario and Tony are now the 4th and 5th best drivers in the IRL. God, what a sham, i mean shame.

Mikey is probably talking to Cart's pace car driver since he knows more about the sharp end of the field then Larry, Curly and Mo, oh I mean, Mikey, Dario and Tony.
