I didn't know the trucks race on road courses. Why no road course specialists (Scott Speed?)? Never seen trucks on a road course so I am looking forward to this race.

Yea, ok, so I was just on that same site and I have to agree with both of those statements. I decided I was going to try to figure out exactly what the hell it was, but then gave up out of frustration. What products / services do they offer and how do they make money?

I was unaware that this road course existed within IRP. Maybe they should run the trucks on the oval, the Busch cars on the road course, and the cup cars at IMS. Now that would be a race weekend...a little bit of everything.

On another note, can Kyle do it again this weekend? I say yea, why not. Nothing's stopped the guy all year, why should it now? Hell, maybe he'll win all three races .

The way Kyle's year is going i am sure that 3 race wins in 1 weekend is within his grasp - good to see that hardly any Cup drivers are racing in the Nationwide race...

And Marcos Ambrose is going to have a crack at the Brickyard

speaking of which, i got money on kyle winning at least one race and causing damage to at least 3 vehicles over the weekend.

all in all tho, this is a big weekend for the stockcars/trucks.

They still use that course for three low level SCCA evets per year, otherwise they use the oval for Nascar and the drag strip for NHRA.

the 21 has been crap for years. Elliott is WAY passed his prime but for the past two years, has been one of the few bright spots for the Wood Bros. he and Marcus...good to see the Awesome Aussie racing at Indy.

88, 8 and 42 have all had tire problems with less than 20 laps on them.

more comp yellows to come. they may run out of this week's tires and have to go to next week's tires. Goodyear brings virtually the same tire to Indy that was on a completely different car than was here last year...i'm no tire engineer, but that is stupid.

yes, this is a farce, as has been most of this season. the brickyard is supposed to be one of the biggest races of the year...today is just a joke.

I'd say it was down to Goodyear making a crap tyre and Nascar not having enough tyre testing at Indy.

Its a huge shame I have looked forward to this one.. Jeff Burton just took out some birds on the restart .. how bizarre is this race getting... Stewart was saying Goodyear and NASCAR was doing a good job.. doesn't get much bizarre than that !

Was almost as bad a debacle as the Michelin problems in F1 a few years ago, but at least F1 can't test at IMS. Competition caution every 12-15 laps was ridiculous and made the race a farce. Any lead anybody got was erased within 20 min and the drivers who went for 2 came out in front til they fell off and then the caution came out and saved them. Was surprised the fans were less ****ed about this show than the F1 race though, didn't see the trash through everywhere, but maybe NASCAR fans are alot more used to caution filled races.

I see people blaming Goodyear...surely it's more NASCAR's problem in that they didn't do a full test of this car on the fairly unique circuit.

Yes I understand that they would want to test on fairly generic tracks as these would cover the most bases still ....

yeah, and i drove from North Georgia to Indy to watch the bridgestone tire test. i still hold a grudge against F1 for that and for NASCAR or Goodyear to mess up this many times, this bad in one year, i will soon become ONLY a sportscar fan.

this is total and complete crap. How can you not blame Goodyear? they make the tires, not NASCAR. they've had two years to dial in the COT...what the hell have they been doing?! Yes Indy is a unique track; is Pocono, Bristol, Taladega and the road courses not as unique? As much as I hate to agree with Tony S., Goodyear needs to wake up and shape up or find another motorsport to make subpar tires for.

today makes me embarrassed to call myself a NASCAR fan. this may be the last season i watch this crap....besides it is Awesome Bill's last season (apparently).
