Piquet broke the Creek lap record by more than 3 seconds. I'm working just 10 minutes drive form there and it was raining here. How wet was it on track? |

Salvador Duran is making a name for himself, and good performance by Jiang Tengyi. Just looking at the times it looks weather affected, big gaps between Brazil and the rest and again between France and Switzerland. Then again 5 sec gap between first and last (excluding India, whose driver I feel sorry for after being thrown in the deep end) is about what I'd expect.
Perhaps we will see Will Davison and Thomas Enge in the second session? |

It looks like there will be scattered showers for the rest of the day. Since Alan Jones is deciding his drivers based on today's performances, does that mean he gives the fastes driver?? I dont think that will be fair due to the inclimate weather?
NZ did ok!! |

I guess if it rains heavily this afternoon and Will Davison is 5 sec slower than Jones Jnr's time but 5th in the session he should still get picked (I would hope).
I know some people on this forum are getting tired of Christian Jones bashing but there are so many good drivers in Australia so surely the team lineup could be Will Davison and someone else who is available. Are there no deserving drivers in Australian F3 for example? Hopefully NZ have gotten over their engine issues from Estoril and are going to have a smooth weekend, looks like it so far although would like to see us challenging France and Brazil rather than 5th. |

Practice 2 has started and again there will be no live timing. Why dose A1GP.com's live timing never work? It has screwed up in every race this year.

Extremely close from Netherlands in 4th down to Ireland in 14th, apart from Brazil, France and Switzerland out front again it looks to be a very competitive weekend.
For Australia Will Davison put in a quicker time than Christian Jones by 0.3sec, despite the second session being slower. Not a particularly good day for the home team though as neither troubled the front runners. Perhaps you should all switch your allegance to NZL... Sorry just couldn't resist. I take back my earlier comment for now about Armaan Ebrahim being out of his depth. GBR must be disappointed with their form again after being touted as a pre-season favourite, and not much more joy for the USA either. Not sure what Montermini was doing, too long out of single seaters perhaps? China only managed three laps but still beat him. I am getting more and more impressed by the young Chinese driver considering his lack of any real experience. |

okay, just back from the track
gotta feel sorry for poor christian . his own words "they told me to go out easy for 5 laps to wear the gearbox in , i wanted to put a quick lap in before the rain started so i went for it on lap 4 ,i blew the gearbox". he's a nice guy ,in a bang your head against a brick wall type of way. Will didnt really have a fluid run and only went out for that last session so yah cant expect much more . think the thing is that the car setup is off and the top boys have got their cars tuned in. As for me ,great frigin day, walked around the pits talking to all the drivers ,didnt even have my paddock pass. I got the shieks autograph and neraly all the drivers ,also fittipaldis and john surtees . okay for all the people going for the last 2 days *get a paddock pass ,it cost $20 yah get nice and close to everything * big tip,no huge tip "flyspray-dont forget the flyspray" * schooner of beer $4.50 *cappacino $3.50 *corner 2 first lap will be a beauty *probably an umbrella |
