Brands Hatch 1983 - Race of Champions. Rosberg 1st, Danny Sullivan 2nd.
But there were non-championship sprint pursuits at the Bologna motor show for the Italian constructors in the late 80s. |

Yes, the last non-champ race was at Brands in 1983...
BUT the last non-champ race in the same conditions as todays was South Africa 1981, where the FISA teams (Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Renault and Ligier-Talbot) decided not to race and, later, the same FISA declared that as a non-champ race. Sad thing, because if that race had awarded points, Carlos Reutemann would have been the 1981 World Champion. |
