GMC 400 looses naming rights sponsor

It was report on the news, here in Canberra, that GMC have pulled out from the Canberra street race. The race is called the Canberra 400 until a sponsor is found. Ticket prices will also drop for next year, due to a drop in spectators for this year.

Yeah , i heard that aswell. Was it true that spectator attendences were so low that AVESCO gave out a fake crowd number , then come back in a few months with the real number. And the organiser were p****D.

Probably more that AVESCO gave out 'their' crowd figure only to have the ACT government table the real number (much less) in Parliament around June/July think it was...

the situation with V8 racing is getting worse. How can Bathurst not have a sponsor? Why would GMC quit the 400?
Something is very wrong here.

I think GMC only had a contract for 2 years, so they decided not to continue with it.

Also, what about the HONDA Indy, when Honda pulls out of Champ Cars at the end of next year?

Then there is Bathurst...

But hey, now I know what GMC is, something I had no idea of before the race.
