Season Preview Show + TV coverage
Good news, ESPN Star sports have a half hour A1GP season preview show scheduled for 9PM Hong Kong (GMT+8) time this Saturday, immediately following Italian GP qualifying.
Don't blame me if the schedule changes, it is possible that this time slot was scheduled ages ago when Mugello was due to be round 1. However recently Star Sports have been plugging A1GP with a feature filmed a few months ago in Shanghai, so wouldn't surprise me if this is still on. Anyone can watch this, just download TVU, a program which allows you to watch streamed TV channels, then choose Star Sports from the channel list. By the way this would be a good method for anyone to watch A1GP, as Star Sports always show qualifying and races live, and Star Sports is always in the TVU channel list. |

I sat down and waited. I watched Lewis spin to oblivion. I watched Raikkonen show why he sucks. And... I saw football. Where's the A1GP highlights? Nada. Zilch. Zero.
Hey Tony. That's great stuff. More no shows. Maybe when we get to Zandvoort, even the Ferrari cars will be a no show. |

Not necessarily A1GP'a fault. Star Sports fail to update their schedule all the time. They are the laziest TV broadcaster on the planet I think, their GP2 coverage from Hungaroring involved showing the cars on the grid with the lights about to go out, then commercials, and then back to lap 10!
They are spoilt by their dominant position in satellite broadcasting in this part of the world, although their coverage of A1GP when the races is on is excellent. |

My experience with Star Sports's A1GP coverage has been less than stellar. When ESPN airs A1GP, it's live and on time. When Star Sports deals with the telecast, it's at best a day delayed, and at worst at some odd time several days after the event.

As far as I know both Star Sports and ESPN (in this region) are broadcast by the same entity, ESPN Star based in S'pore

ESPN Star Sports is a joint venture of Disney (ESPN) and News Corp (Star), they have two channels, A1GP can be on either depending on whether tennis, football or something else pushes it off Star onto ESPN.
Usually it's live on Star unless something else is on in which case it's live on ESPN. That's on the Philippines signals anyway. |

Yeah, I know that Star Sports and ESPN are in some hokey joint venture. But I only speak of experience watching them for the past 3 seasons.
