MrGoldenEra should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Another place to enjoy 1980's FF1600 cars.

Hello All,

A class has been added for the new for 2011 'Simon Lewis Transport Books Formula Free Single Seater Series", based at Castle Combe circuit. The class is open to any 1980's FF1600 chassis, running to FF1600 regs and running on Avon ACB10 tyres. This will be a non-points scoring mini series giving people a chance to enjoy their cars in a relaxed, fun environment.

is the series specific to 80's cars only, or can earlier cars participate?

The series is open to any chassis manufactured upto 31st December 1989, so yes cars built prior to 1980 are eligible . Obviously providing they are to FF1600 spec.

Presumably any FF1600 runners will be sharing the grids with other participants within the single seater series, which includes cars of any age and specification providing that they run at less than 108 decibels. Notwithstanding that; it would be good to see a decent number of the FF1600 cars within the series.

Kipper,

That is indeed correct. The Castle Combe championship is close to overflowing, so this wil be a good way of spreading the number of FF1600 cars. 1980's chassis, although quick are never going to be able to compete with the modern chassis, save for freak circumstances or weather. Creating a race solely for these cars (of which there are many) will allow competitors to enjoy them on a level playing field.
