With GnR locked in for the Sydney 500, I was under the impression that Pink was in line for the end of year concert when they signed her up, or has TC & VE$SA done the dirty on her??

Maybe the average XXXX/Bundaberg/JimBeam/CanadianClub drinking V8Supercar fan isn't interested in attending a Pink concert?

I have never heard VESA say that Pink would be performing at Sydney. The only place I have heard that rumour is on this forum.

Oh. An ad for Supercars with a recent version of GnR. I thought it was going to Pink. I saw a clip of her performing on the news yesterday. Not bad.

So who is headlining this 'event', Axel Rose or V8 Supercar?
Just seems that motorsport has even less relevance (and importance) in the promotion of the 'event'. Nice ad and all though, definitely rivals the pink advertisement. |

I would say for many the Supercars would be the main attraction with an added bonus of a GnR concert thrown in. For many others GnR would be the main attraction with the added bonus of some car races thrown in.
Two bites at the cherry, sounds like good marketing to me. |

I wonder how many people will buy tickets and only attend the concert? I know whilst on my way out of the circuit last year there was a seemingly large number of people entering the circuit who clearly hadn't been there for the racing during the day (they *could* have gone home to shower, change and freshen up I suppose?).

Last time the Gunners played at an Australian race track it was a complete and utter disaster. I hope history doesn't repeat itself.

Even bigger mess up. I think a bottle of water at this years concert will be cheaper than it was at the Calder concert. Lets hope Axle only drinks water this time too!

One thinks that people could be disapointed if you think you will see the GnR of old. Mr Rose is the only orignal member left form their hey day, and Chinese Democracy isn't exactly in the same ilk as their more "traditional albums".
And Mr Rose drinks a concoction of 3 different lemon/honey/crap drinks to sooth the throat after all that screeching... Ah now I see the marketing links to a car race Wouldn't it be amusing if GnR headlined the Shanghai 500 with the Chinese Democracy tour... |
