Small Capacity 70's touring cars.....
Where have all the small capacity 70's touring cars gone?
I was out at Oulton Gold Cup in the Motor racing legends 70's touring car an I was the ONLY small cap car, I was shaking down my Genuine Spiess build Grp 2 NSU tt 1300 from 1973 As fun as the day was it would be great to have some other baby cars out on the grid to really try an push the bigger boys around, So Im asking are there any small capacity cars out there? and are you willing to come out an Play next season? |

The series is
Motor racing Legends: J.D classics challenge: Motor Racing Legends launched an all-new race series for 2011, featuring Groups 1 and 2, and Group A Touring Cars, such as raced in the British and European Touring Car Championships between 1972 and 1985. The interest in the series was so great, that for 2012 the eligbility has been extended to include Touring Cars from 1966, bringing in Group 5 cars from this era. In Europe, it was the era of TWR XJ-S and BMW 528, of Alfa GTV6, Audi Coupé and Ford Sierra XR4i, piloted in their day by such stars as Win Percy and Andy Rouse. Before that came the likes of Triumph Dolomite Sprint, BMW 3.0 CSL and Jaguar XJ 12C – not forgetting the evergreen Ford Capri. It’s a time that many of us remember clearly, and even more of us will be happy to see revived as a historic race series. |

Didn't like the entry fees so the mini stays in the garage, where it has been for many years.

Championship until 1300
Hi Hunter1300,
A bit of trivia from Portugal There were between until 2010 a big championship for Classic cars until 1980 and until 1300c.c. The best race was Boavista Circuit in Porto in 2009. 44 cars attended the meeting including Minis MK2, the populars Datsun 1200, Mg Midget, Alfa Romeo 1300 GTA and Alfa Romeo Sprint, Ford Escort 1300 between others. Now the championship is a bit down with grids between 10 and 14 cars.. Best regards Diogo Ferrao |
