It may sound negative but is Macau really a BMW track? Or does BMW seem to always just field more cars than everyone else? They kinda overwhelm all the other makes? Having more number of cars increases your chances of winning?

i am quite interested in this, too.
in last year BMW just won Seat for few seconds, even though SCHNITZER have much of data about macau(for sure not all are usful in case it's in first Super2000 race in macau).
But in SP age Carly have beated work team+driver Alfa 147,JAS Civic and Vic Lee 307.....

In my opinion Macau is a good track for BMW, they have tons of experience and the slow corners are suitable for 320i.
SEAT was fast in 2004 there, but Toledo has been always a good car in slow tracks. I doubt if Alfa Romeo can be faster than SEAT at Macau.

Well, I thinks its dreadful to have the WTCC finale at Macau. Where are people supposed to pass? There are not many places where there is room for two cars on that track.

A very nice street track, but to have the final race there, no thanks...

The run from the Melco harpin to the finish line and into The Hotel Lisboa is fast and there's enough room for everybody to overtake into the braking point at The Hotel Lisboa bend.

[WTCC] Round 19 & 20 at Macau (20 November)

It's a shame there's more then 1,5 month between the Valencia and Macau race.

At which CET time is the Macau race?

It's a shame Carly (with support of Watson's Water) will not race at Macau. I think they are the most succesful team of the last 5 or 10 years (correct me if I am wrong).

BTW I have made a Macau topic.

it could be . but ballast counts too ..

BMW was front runner in SP .. neither Alfa or Honda was anywhere close . only the Primera of Ruustad(sp?) ...

Macau will be interesting .. for sure . team tactics could also influence .. Thompson&Farfus and even Tarquini will have low ballast so could be near the front

With the Macau races now having proper WTCC status, I reckon it's going to be one helluva battle for the title. Can't wait!

A pity the races are just 50 km long (that's what? 8 laps of the Macau racetrack ). I think this one will be a blast to watch (damn, I'll have to wake up in the middle of the night to see the streaming ).

just checked that this year they will add 1 lap to each race
IMO 9 laps still not long enough(remenber last year SC makes only 4 real laps each),but better than nothing

Or race distance would be extanded next year while spilt with GT?

I understand from the website of Engstler Motorsport the Asian Touring Car Championship (ATCC) has a race at Macau. Do they race together with the WTCC? The German team of Franz Engstler (leader in championship) enters 3 BMW's in the ATCC.

Protons are not S2000 so those won't drive with WTCC... Is there any other div.1 ATCC cars in S2000 spec than Engstler BMW's?

Ao Chi Hong-toyota altezza
Chan Sun San-honda integra DC5
however both of them are not FIA homolagted model.....

for sure Protons not S200 car
meanwhile they should be approved by ATCC
they may be a shame for ATCC that not allow protons on the gird while it is FIA sactioned.....
so i am interested on it too, let's find the answer on monday
(MG's story on ETCcup would give us some hints too)
