Hey there,

Am I going mad or has their 2005 car already been launced?

My apologies if I am posting old news but there are pics of Tiago Monteiro testing the 2005 car

It's not been "launched" - this was a shakedown test of the EJ14B they'll start the season with.

Livery launch in Moscow in a couple of weeks.

Interesting wings on the front of the sidepods.

Hmmmm confusing, Autosport are citing phrases like "new car" and "...its 2005 contender", but it seems as though peeps here believe its the modded '04 car?

EDIT: Better pics here...

Maybe I am just dense, but when did they switch to Bridgestones (see logo on nose)?

If this is an obvious thing that has been in place for some time, please correct this tired, aged person gently!

Only one logo on the car. I'm surprised there isn't a Toyota badge somewhere though, not that either is important. I'll wait until they launch the car before jumping to conclusions I think.

Their 2005 car is the modified 2004 car with a Toyota engine.

I think that's all Jordan is going to race this year.

I thought that until I looked at the EJ14 - they were on the car from the middle of last year, the fact they are black make them less obvious - they look to have been made more prominent.

Overall there are very little changes on the car, as you say there were/are plans for a mid season 'new car' but with the departure of Smith and the Dallara car for 2006 underway, I wonder if Midland will want to invest in a car with a life of a few months?

I see it now, it's barely visible on most of the photos unless you're specifically looking for it though. Guess I'll look closer next time.

For those curious about what colours Midland might run next year look at http://www.midland.gg it seems the company scheme is pale blue and white.

Mark Smith spoke of that as his plan when he joined - although the latest information is that the car testing today will now be the EJ15 rather than a 14B - and the next new car will be the Dallara 106

They are calling it the EJ15, chassis 01. So if this is the car for the season, it is definitely going to be a long year for the team. The loss of key engineering personnel combined with the teams sale so close to the start of '05, is going to see them struggle, even with Toyota power. (If the works team can't score points with that engine, you couldn't expect Jordan to). Not to mention inexperienced drivers.
