Peugeout leads red-flagged FP1. But I doubt they remain in that spot once others pick up the pace. |

More than strange best speed results. Best LMGT is 253 kph and the Isotta is only 229 kph. Am I missing something?

Sandbagging for sure In FP2 cars are exceeding 280 kph but still seems power gain above 250 won't matter much at this track.

I'll tend to agree with you both in FP2 the Toyota #8 is at 286 kph and the Isotta at 260 kph. Improving but still far behind.

Probably practice (not sandbagging), conditions, and tows.
Need to see the spread, but I’m off to watch some rugby. |

FP2 Average S1
FP2 Average S2 FP2 Average S3 FP2 Average laptime: The usual suspects lead the way (Toyota, Ferrari, Porsche, Cadillac). BMW also looks to make a mark. Last edited by Articus; 12 Jul 2024 at 21:44. |

From the onboards shown at the FIA WEC youtube channel, it shows a different picture. Alpine -> 294km/h Ferrari -> 292km/h Porsche -> 291 km/h top speeds. |

That makes sense. The trap speeds are pretty low.
Circuit map suggests it’s in a decent place, but maybe not. http://fiawec.alkamelsystems.com/Res...cuit%20Map.pdf |

As you stated the Alpine #36 top speed can be seen on the on-board footage, briefly doing 294 kph (1'30"): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=315cEfuIPjk

Maybe they've been moving the speed trap around?

The thing that most jumps out at me from the two practice sessions from yesterday is the difference in the number of laps completed. Across all cars 764 laps (21 laps each average) were completed in FP1 and 2,528 (68). Both sessions were 90 minutes.
Which drivers have been putting in the miles:

FP1 was ended 40 minutes early due to a heavy crash of the Lexus in LMGT3. As a result, FP2 was extended by roughly the same amount of time. The start of FP1 was also wet so overall not much running was completed in FP1.

Thank you. That's what happens when you just look at numbers and have no context.

Free Practice EA
Yeah, that was a quick lap. Toyota have more fast laps and lead the average over the Top 40, but Porsche gets closer again with more laps. That later will depend very much on conditions and how many laps they did.
Toyota have put the laps in... Average Lap time
