Great to see a Dutch team in F1 possibly.

I hope that this brings back Orange cars in to F1, shame it needs a Dutch team when another team should have orange cars (McLaren).

If they're smart, they wait until 2008. In that case Spyker could come in with a newer engine, while other manufactures had to freeze their development for a year already.

If they were to wait a year they could miss out on purchasing Midland and as a result, a place on the F1 grid. Also, as I understand it, the engine freeze applies to all engines in F1 in 2007, therefore for Midland (or whatever the team is renamed as) to circumvent this restriction, they would need for a new manufacturer to enter F1, which may be unlikely.

I suspect that if the sale of the team goes through Christijan Albers would probably be a driver given that the consortium is lead by a Michael Mol who owns the Lost Boys company (a long term backer of Albers) and is part financed by a Roel Kooijman, who is Albers's father in law.

Interesting GrandPrix.com are highlighting the links between Spyker and Ferrari, given that 17% of Spyker is owned by the Arabic Mubadala company who also own a stake in Ferrari (http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns17363.html). However, I have read that Michael Mol is trying to buy the Spyker company, which may suggest that any links between the two companies may soon cease to exist.
