2019 SRO America: Road America
Next weekend, Sept 20-22, the teams of SRO America's GT3, GT4 and TC series head to the four miles of green, park-like perfection known as Road America!
Championships in all classes are still up for grabs with only Road America and Las Vegas yet to run. Road America has been a strong track for Bentley and Porsche in the past, but with new cars for both brands this year, it remains to be seen whether history will repeat in GT3. In GT4 Sprint, James, Cooper and Pumpelly will all be looking to score big points as the season end approaches. GT4 Sprint X is anyone's game, with contenders all through the field. An awesome new addition to the event this year is the parade and welcome party at the famed Siebkens resort Thursday evening. The cars will drive from Road America into Elkhart Lake and be displayed in front of Siebkens. It will be open to the public, and I've included the event information page in the links below. I am seriously pumped for next weekend. Road America is always awesome (Best track in the world, in my obviously unbiased opinion), and the World Challenge weekends are always fun. The parade event at Siebkens is going to be icing on the cake. They've done this for vintage events at RA: it's seriously cool that they're finally doing it for GT World Challenge.
Next week can't come soon enough. |
