Uncle Cranker should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
New Sports Drink for Motor Sport Fans.

Carlton & United Beverages ( CUB ) have just released a new Gatorade type "Formulated Supplementary Sports Drink", called "Torque", part of the Torquay mineral water family, with a blurb on the back of the bottle that reads in part.

"When performing at the highest level of motor racing you just cant run on adrenaline and determination. You need that extra something to give you a competitive edge.

Torque was engineered to help elite drivers recover from the physical and mental demands endured on the race-track. Torque is specially formulated with high performance ingredients.......

to refuel energy and to replace fluids fast. It's the racing drivers' fuel for success. Make it yours too.

Endorsed by motor racing legends Mark Webber and Mark Skaife"

So race fans, what a great piece of tripe, I mean marketing.....

"Motor Racing Legends" not too sure on those 2 being legends, just yet anyway.

So will you go out & buy this stuff ?????
, after all it's the "Racing drivers Fuel for Success"

.

There both legends to me.

Anyone who can battle his way all the way through Europe and make it to a Top F1 Team on a shoestring budget is a legend.

Is Tony Cochrane going to take credit for this?

Is there a V8 Supercar logo on it anywhere?

well I'd try it and if it tastes good id buy it again.

i congratulate Red Bull for their efforts in motorsport sponsorship but i personally think the stuff tastes terrible and will never buy it again.

so i will at least try it if i see it

This brand (made/owned by Torquay Drinks) is a "Carlton Non-Alcoholic Brand" according to the website Here

So its the politically correct beverage for Supercar moving forward....

Having said that, I dont recall seeing Torquay in supermarkets... so this product may be a challenge to find anyway...

Gees GTR, you haven't been doing your supermarket research too well. What would your employers say...

To my mind Torquay make the best Lemon and Lime and Mineral Water drink out there. I've been drinking it (when I can find it...) for over 17 years.

Yes, and you can find Torquay drinks in your local Woolies (not sure about Coles) for $1.59 for a 1.25 litre bottle.

I usually stick to the coffee aisle.. a few small rearrangements to make the orange stuff take pride of place wherever I visit. There is still no Torquay in my local Coles, as recently as 2 hours ago anyway...

I could explain how Coles has virtually a different shelf layout in every store, which makes merchandising it a nightmare, but I would likely be the only one interested

OK GTR, next time we meet up (Eastern Creek Historics) we can share a bottle of Torquay lemon and lime (separate cups of course) - you won't regret it.

You can bring the riva coffee if you like...

Sounds like a plan, just make sure you can enter and exit the grandstand without problems this time
