swift should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Oulton Park Test Day 11th November

A brief report for anyone who's interested: not many cars out mainly FF1600's but there were 2 or 3 Zetecs also. Very cold with a freezing wind. Mike Waite there running David Marshall in the ex-UCLAN Swift. Seemed to be going very well considering his first time out. Neil Mac out in Bryan Mullarkey's Swift. Chris Hodgen had a torrid time with his normally swiss watch reliable Van Diemen suffering a myriad of problems. "Hutch" had a brief run in Chris's car and was immediately on the pace.
Stuart "2 DOgs" had a run in his latest purchase the ex-Glebe/ Pyke 92 Swift. Car was running perfectly until Stuart Sanders gave him the thumbs up as he past the pits whereupon the car, in protest, immediately lapsed onto 3 cylinders!
Bryan M had a brief run out in the Gray's F3 car. Jamie Pickford was on hand helping Simon Kinsey in his Zetec.

A good day but a bit on the chilly side!

I think Redracer was more than a little disappointed to have so little running in his car. That'll teach him to quote how reliable it's been all season!!!!

a little disappointed..... I was gutted!!! I have been like a bear with a sore head for 2 days. I only cheered up when I won an all expenses paid trip for 2 to the Bahrain GP after getting the fastest lap round IMOLA in a F1 car made up as a simulator!!!! First thing I have won in a race car all year!!!

We had our Ensign TGP driver, John Crowson out in our Mygale Zetec. He decided to have a taste of what our younger drivers get and have full on schooling. Using 6 years of data from drivers such as Mark Taylor, Ryan Sharp, Steven Kane, Darwin Smith and Luke Hines, John had the chance to learn how to drive to the limit.

I think we may well see him beating Mike Whatley next season in the other Ensign.

Cheers Steve,

I managed 15 laps all day.....

Oil leak (big time)
Miss fire
Throttle cable snapped
No rev counter (when revs went over 4000 RPM???

and to cap it all off when Hutch drove and went pretty rapid, the Pi system failed so got no data!!!

No worries mate ....better on a test day than race day. Have to admit the loss of data is a bummer.Sounds like some of the same problems JH experienced at WHT last week?????At least the missfire and uneven running.....

back from Dubai and into the very cold UK....

Diz I noted that you have not asked to be involved with the proposed FF1600 club?

I noticed that the FF1600 website seems to have died a death... no replies for 5 days. No PM from people wanting to get involved.

Nevermind

Chris,
I haven't asked because Ian Sowman is the guy arranging a pre meet in January for the few who will hopefully get it up and running. I assumed he would have been in touch with you already, because you are integral to the whole thing.

I have also noticed a distinct lack of FF1600 contributions lately. Probably the euphoria of the WH is starting to wear off.

Chris

Welcome back to the UK. I've been busy with work for a few days so haven't done anything about it. At the minute I'm looking at something early January (if people think this is a good idea), possibly open to anyone.

Diz - I guess Justin must have spoken to you then?

Diz, have pm'd redracer with my offer of help for the proposed Association. Don't know exactly what I can do but I'm prepared to try!
