TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Leigh Dummy annouced it during R2 when Neil Crommley quickly changed subject. Seems like the powers to be want the teams to spend more money next year on spare body parts for there cars. When the revese grid was in the devlopent series there were more crash than ever, any the powers to be want the team to reduce cost. Seems like there piece of pie and the whole bloody pie together.

And they launch a control chassis the same weekend... Could be a quick way of getting rid of those pesky "non-control" chassis quickly.

so will this be for ALL 3 race events next year or just Phillip Island ?

I didnt quite catch it today on the TV and havent read the link Mr Barton posted yet.

I like reverse grids to a degree , but it really is a lottery if you get through them or not.

time will tell if this happens or not or stays for a while

I think there is room for reverse grid races in V8Supercars, but I think they should follow suit from the NZV8's and just reverse the Top10, not the WHOLE grid. If you do the whole grid you end up with carnage everywhere, by doing just the top10 you end up with guys at the front that know how to drive like race leaders, not mobile chicanes

So they are introducing NASCAR type pileups the year after a multiple champ goes to NASCAR...oh the irony!

As v8s are merely a form of entertainment these days , i don't have a problem with reverse grid races . They should be , err , very entertaining .

The only people who will find it entertaining is those people who "only watch it for the crashes" race fans want to see exactly that racing not this crap.

Does anyone know if they're keping the ridiculous 2 wheel gun pitstops next year. Everyone with half a brain said at the start of the year it would be crap & we've been proved right at every race this year.

Reverse grid = reverse intelligence

When all the talk all year has been about cost containment, the goons bring in a move that will make the panelbeaters millionaires...

I guess it's our fault. We all say we want more passing!

It means they really have to sort out this "racing room" crappola before next year.

Very very stupid indeed...

Another problem is that if one of the leading drivers has a problem in race 1 and then rejoins the race and comes near last, he will then start from the pointy end in race 2. He will likely race away all on his own. All the other leading drivers will be at the tail end of the feild battling their way through.

The racing this year hasn't been bad, the championship went down to the final round. Why does V8 supercar need a gimmick like a reverse grid, do people really needa to see carnage?

Totally insane!

Interesting that we have not heard from any team owners extolling the virtues of reverse grids ......

AVESCO (or whatever it is called this week) seems intent on giving the punters and teams exactly the opposite of what they do want.

So the powers-that-be are trying to contain costs ....... wait a minute, I've got it!!!! Let's introduce a grid format whereby there is a greater risk of huge prangs and car damage, thus forcing the teams to spend even more on repairs!

Anyway, aside from Barbagallo, Hidden Valley and Pukekohe, every round should be a single race .....

Yeah, but the guy who comes first in the first race will get 128pts for that, plus whatever he gets for race 2. The guy who comes last in the first race, then blasts away in the second race, gets 0 points for race 1, and 64 points for winning race 2. With the grid for race 3 being determined on aggregate, I'd rather go into race 3 with 128+ points than 64.

I think we can pencil in Mr Lowndes for the championship for next year - no-one can carve through the field like he can!

The points system needs changing and on top of that, we go down this reverse grid road again, which has already been proven to be a useless gimmick designed to spice up the "show" for the uninformed and the hangers-on.

I can't stand people who watch races "for the crashes". It's the same as people going to a tennis match to see the dummy spits. Hopeless...
