IanGrohse should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ultima GTR, why not more succesful?

There was an Ultima GTR in Grand Am for a while this year....and there are a few GTRs in UK GT series and stuff.....but they arent particularly succesful....

My question is why specificly are they not more competitive?
The only fault that seams obvious in the design is aerodynamics....seems rather pugish.
But other than that, it seems like it would be a perfect foundation for a great GT car. Stout steel space from chassis, reliable/powerful engine, trans, etc.

So, does anyone have any insight.

Many and various problems which have diuffered from team to team

Engine woes hobbled Colin Blower in the Brit series initially but he's had big gearbox probs in later races.

I gather a new (Hewland) box is in place for 2003 though so the silver bullet should fly - It has already shown fantastic pace with Lee Caroline and Jay shepherd aboard - Fingers crossed it'll be a front runner this season.

With the new reg's in place, one Ultima will be competing in GTO of this years Brit GT's. This should be a title contender.

I was impressed by last year's performance by what is, after all, a kit-car. A great effort for a small organisation - this year should be good!

2 Ultima's? I think that this year should see a reversal of the Ultima's fortunes.... at least I hope it does well, because I think that it's a stunning looking car

Anybody want to buy me one ?
