There's a pretty good chance of the results being repeated this year to match last year's results. I hope not though, I'd like to see Halfords and Motorbase both competing right at the front from the off.

I think Halfords will be there, not sure about Motorbase straight away though...new drivers, new car - need time.

Also people are forgetting about Chevrolet's. If Robertshaw racing car get to grips with the cars (with a little help from RML) the chevies can be up there. Especially in reverse grid races. Allison proved what he could do last year in the aging toledo.

The thing is with this year.. there are more cars and drivers that are capable of being at the front!

As many as a possible 16 drivers!

It is going to tough at the front!

From memory, at the recent test day at Brands, ONE second covered the top 16!

Yes it will be very close, i can't wait to get to Brands Hatch next weekend. This season could be even closer than last year with some very close races and good on track battles!

When you are 1 second slower at Brands, you don't really have the pace. Still, it must be great to see 27 cars trying to be the first braking into paddock and druids.

Thats true about being off the pace at Brands if you're a second behind, but remember thats in clear traffic, against the clock. Against another 26 men (i can say that now theres now Fiona Leggate, which is a shame!) trying to take the best race line is a completly different story!

Can't wait! It'll be good that's for sure, i'll be supporting team RAC and the other BMWs.

Can't wait to see the support races though, espacially the Clios, they'll be good fun to watch.

Not long till Donnington either. I'll be there.

Some drivers are bad qualifiers and better in races. Like me in sim racing - but bad in races but even worse in qualifying

I wish they would release a BTCC game or WTCC Race on X Box 360. I love Forza 2 but it's not touring cars!

If its dry and would see Turkington as a potential pole man and as someone has mentioned I also think Allison will be a threat as the season goes on with RML who know BTCC and of course the Chevy.

The Chevrolet isn't RML, It's Robertshaw Racing - who haven't competed in the BTCC before.

I expect Allison to feature for points certainly - but with Halfords in the independents category, Robertshaw have no chance even for the independents title, let alone the overall title. And even then I reckon Motorbase & GR Asia will likely be ahead of them.

Are Halfords definitely Indie this year? There seems to be confusion over this.

Halford aren't in the Indie category, despite what the entry list on the official site says.

I'm going to reserve judgement on Allison until after qualifying. Although he did surprisingly well in the recent tests, I've heard that he wasn't necessarily running at a race-legal weight.

There's speculation SimBin are doing it as a modifed RACE07, but that would be for PC and it would have lousy ISI physics.

Didn't they run Alan Taylor for a few races last year?

Let's not forget WSR and BDT (for the drivers, or the teams if they get a second car sorted soon).

Grrr, I hate it when people use acronyms that aren't actually in proper use. Took me ages thinking about the entry list to work out who you meant.

We get enough of that on the Aussie forum, where they never bother to mention real names or team names whatsoever!!!

WSR I'll live with, though on this forum that often leads to confusion with World Series by Renault.

BDT is not going to be short for BMW Dealer Team UK, OK! If anything, that's going to be BMWDTUK! You can't use an acronym for an acronym!

You might want to watch out for RACE on the PC. Its not the XBOX360 but I hear murmorings that there might well be a BTCC expansion on the way.

To clarify that - a demo has been released featuring a 2007 Vauxhall Vectra in VXR colours, and there's a rumoured expansion pack on the way but no clarification on what it'll feature - the initial rumour was it would contain an FIA GT update, but with Vauxhall springing up, 2+2 = BTCC game! (Especially with Codemasters and the TOCA license now finally over).

And the game is RACE07, not RACE to be picky.

However, for any more talk of that - please start a thread in our Virtual Racers forum

Fair point, I was referring to the fact RML are assisting with set up which is an advantage but cant agree that motorbase with their driver line up will be a match for Allison as the season progresses, I do agree GR Asia with Jones will be one of the stars of the year again.

No "BDT" listed as an entry by the way as Hazard correctly pointed out.
