Robin Miller's latest
http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/champcar/10606/
Good read, lots of uplifting stuff. He says that Atlantics now have 20 confirmed cars. That is GREAT news, I hope he's right, although I don't know where they came up with 8 cars/drivers in the last few days. |

That's clearly a minor typo - and a much smaller error than some of the stuff you come out with, Zero

19 Cars by Monterry eh??
Gentlemen, start your speculation! Miller has been accused of un-biased "telling it like it is" articles before, I'm glad he's sticking to that.... (Yes, I know it's positive! ) |

There are a few errors in that article, (Fogarty ran with Rahal in Atlantics last year, though missed a few of the early races), but who cares. 18/19 cars in CART/OWRS is great, and hopefully will lead to greater things in the future. 20 cars in Atlantics is really quite a pleasant suprise, as I've always been a huge fan. (actually had the tech director/chief scrutineer from 70's and early 80's over on the weekend)
There is some decent talent added this year, Wilson and Enge notably, and hopefully their equipment doesn't handcuff them too much. With the right tools, these guys could easily compete for many races. Atlantics should be interesting, and you never know who will appear that could be a major new talent (such as AJ in 03') Of interest is the progress of Danica. She could be a great addition to CART down the road, but really needs to step it up this year. (I had heard the car was subpar last year...) |

Fogarty only did the final two races last year, so for the most part Robin Miller is correct about saying he's back from missing a year in the series, but he could have more clear, yes. I imagine most of the new additions to the Atlantic field will be the C2 chassis's and therefore uncompetitive with the front runners no matter how good the driver is. They announced like a week ago that there were 12 entries, or maybe they said 14, I don't remember. Out of those entries only 1 of them was a C2 chassis entry. Now a week later they are saying 20. My guess is they will all be C2 chassis cars. Maybe the OWRS guys made it even cheaper and easier for them to join to attract more of them to make the fields look larger. If thats the case, I think it was a very smart move on their behalf.

A good job by Vicki O'Conner and TRD to assemble such good respectable field on short notice.
There have been 16 announced Swift 014.a entries, one of which is partial season, and 2 C2 Swift 008.a partial season entries. Presumably all will be at long beach. The other 2 I can find no news on. Beleow are the entries announced Full Time (Swift 014.a): #2 Eric Jensen (Canada), age 34, Starwood Team Jensen #3 Philip Fayer (Canada), PoleStar Racing Group #4 Rocky Moran jr.
