88 team fined and has points taken away

I am surprised nobody caught this by now. I personally think it is BS to take points away from Jarrett for this offense at a track like New Hampshire. I don't think a 1/4 inch lower ride height would make a difference there.

Actually I thought it was only an 1/8 of a inch too low...which is really ticky tacky. But they have been warned. I thought they just took points away from Jimmie Johnson a few weeks back? Was it for the same thing? Or something else?

I think it was Jimmie Johnson who had points taken away for the same thing but they couldn't pass pre-race inspection and were allowed to race with the car anyway and have points taken away later--which I thought was odd.

Well NASCAR did warn them that it was going to come down to this. So I am not real surprised. I guess NASCAR felt that $$ wasn't stopping the teams from using the too soft springs. Points would certainly be felt more--- they will go this way from now on. It hurts them more & will certainly discourage the teams from trying to get away with things.

It would be real interesting if the points deductions made a driver LOOSE the championship.

Rules are rules. If you dont meet the technical regulations you dont meet the regulations. In other forms of racing you'd have been disqualified entirely, not just 1/6 of your points
