Server Outage 11pm GMT - Monday 6th December

Server suffered unexplained load and was re-booted as a precaution against total system crashing.

We have a video of the server processes and will be analysing this to see if there are any configuration changes or steps we can take to address the issue.

We have identified a "race condition" (no pun intended) where load on the server could cause MySQL access problems which resulted in:

1. A large batch of warning e-mails to be sent to the server admin.
2. Sending the mails from 1 caused a greater load on the server which then caused access problems which resulted in a large batch of warning e-mails to be sent to the server admin.
3. Sending the mails from 2 caused a greater load on the server which then caused access problems which resulted in a large batch of warning e-mails to be sent to the server admin.

Some steps have been implemented to try to prevent this problem in the future.
