Hotness.. in spectator comfort, track temperature and hopefully the racing.

Is that bloke Peter Adderton still running the series these days?

Interesting that 888 may have lost a pair of engines in the #88 and #888 cars on the ‘track to town’ street parade drives…

Darwin has a decent ambient, and being stuck in traffic flows wouldn’t do good for cooling. Wonder if dry ice could have been useful here.

An expensive lesson perhaps.. and changing to the enduro engine now might not win many friends..

Interesting to see some of the drivers taking their V8Supercar race vehicles to town without driving suits/gloves/stack hats.

Does driving on the road at slower speeds somehow make it less of a crash or fire risk? I wouldn’t have thought so…

I wouldnt have thought they were a fire risk travelling at the speed of the general population. Do you wear your Stack Hat and Gloves when driving down town?

Meantime, Mr Golding & Mr Slade were quick in qualifying
Will it stay this way all weekend?

Not sure why the schedule was basically done by about 3pm

Begs the question of why couldn’t they run a late afternoon race..
On a Friday…

The parades of transporters and then cars had plenty of people interested and attending, perhaps a 3 race “Triple Crown” might have made the weekend..

Speaking as a marshal, the fire-safety gear is really there in case you have an off and can't get out quickly, or a fire at high speed where it takes a while to stop before you can exit. Driving around town, it's pretty much the same risk as driving anything else around town.

I dont want to get pelters for saying this here but i cant honestly remember many actually good Supercar races since the UK got a TV deal. So probably 10 years or so.

Everything is so perfect, the drivers are so good and consistent.

Mr Kostecki mentioned during a chat with Larko about his day, and apparently the engine in #1 was a ‘new spec’ engine that hadn’t been to his liking all weekend…

Rebuilds are possible assuming the damage isn’t fatal for the heads/vblock

May wreck the sequencing to assure a fresh engine for Bathurst…
