Oh very cool , Im looking forward to seeing how Phil Giebler goes.
I have no knowledge of his racing exploits except for his A1GP experience and I was pretty impressed with him at times.

I hope he has a great month

Curiously, in the entry list PdR have the T car only for one of the two.

I see that Lazier’s primary car sponsor is the Indiana Ice, an amateur hockey team. Now I know nothing about the amatuer hockey scene is Indianapolis but would an amatuer team have the money to be a primary sponsor at the Indy 500 ?

IC probably knows more but I think the 'Ice' are minor league pro team. Still most minor league teams are not exactly rolling in money.

Thats what I thought. In my part of the world you dont really see sporting teams pro or amatuer sponsoring other sports.

It may be that whoever owns the "Ice" are sponsoring the car and using it to promote their team...

Could be but then surely the money we are talking would be better spent for an amatuer team.

Maybe its a contra deal between the parties, as I see Lazier will be turning up at a few games. They promote the hockey at Indy, and the Hockey team will promote Lazier at their games.

I talked to Jaques this morning and he was trying to get something together to try and run this week and weekend. If he doesn't he and Phil will be 2nd weekend qualifiers because of the decreased cost of the Honda engine lease. What a shame.

With the right ride, Jacques could qualify in the top 11. Here is hoping the funding comes through.

Phil I do not know so well so I can't speculate, but certainly $$ help improve your chances!

Jaques and PDR did get the funding together for him to try to qualify this weekend. Still might be tough though. The area 20th-24th is very close.
