Is a 1966 British GP programme worth anything?
My uncle runs a paper collection for the local scout group and was given it among a load of other junk, plus another programme of which I can't remember the circuit.
Just wondered if it's worth keeping hold of. |

Ah, the second programme is the 1966 International Rally of Great Britain, with a pic of a Mini Cooper S on the front.

I'd keep it anyway, regardless of value.

Yeah. Keep those someplace safe. If they're not worth anything now, they might be someday. And just for the historic significance.

Absolutely. They'd probably both fetch a few quid on EBay, but like pirenzo and Lee, I'd hide them away somewhere out of the sun.....

Try Simon Lewis Transport at www.simonlewis.com/ amongst others, who may well be interested in buying them. I'm sure Jim Clark/Lotus/Mini fans would like to lay their hands on them.
Or if you really want rid of them, I'll send you an stamped addressed envelope! |

I offered Simon Lewis a multi-signed BTCC/F3 programme from quite a few years ago (signed by most of the TC stars of the day and a lot of F3 drivers who are now in F1), but no interest at all......

A lot of the dealers aren't too keen on buying programmes as singletons.
As a single piece a '66 British GP will be worth between £9 and £15. It has to have its little racecard insert with it to fetch that though. Not sure on the rally programme - by their nature they don't get to survive in such quantities, but won't be as inherently valuable. As a rule of thumb, sell singletons privately and try to find homes for collections with dealers. Approach a book dealer with some books on the proviso that he takes your surplus magazines and programmes as part of the deal, and he'll talk to you. Ask him to offer you something for the last five years of Autosport and he'll show you the warehouse he already has stuffed to the rafters with 'em! |

The programme, I've noticed, has a leaflet inside asking if anyone wants to be in the film Grand Prix.
