I thought customer cars were going the way of the skip?

Theoretically you could still use a customer car in 09 to get some experience and build your own one for 2010

Or the FIA might see sense and allow them.

They would have to buy the ProDrive entry, wouldn't they?

The Torro Rosso story is gathering pace
http://http://formula-1.updatesport....-one/view.html With Reuters also covering the autosport story. Still very early speculation, But as a fan of Ultimate it would be great to see it happen. They have a great squad in place and are obviously very commited to making things happen. Started up last year and are already winning in British f3 and were in the mix at Silverstone in WSR. |

As far as I know they have only done a couple of carbon cars (FBMW and F3) neither of which are particularly complex cars. Don't get me wrong, they are a tidy little outfit - but it'd be a huge leap to start playing with the big boys in F1. It would be nice to see something like the STR/Ultimate/Mygale link up come off though... Ultimate seem to be a decent enough team and the certainly have some lofty ambitions. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out... |

Hopefully if they do get into F1 they'll retain their nice yellow colour scheme. If we have another F1 car with highlights of red on a silver or white background, I'll probably eat my own legs.

Well, main backing is said to be coming from Sondagol (I think that's what it's called) and they are a nice shade of yellowy-orange, so assume that's what it'd be too. Out of curiosity too, does anyone think Signature-Plus will be involved too??? |

If this happens, I wouldn't be surprised if Mygale are involved. They build god-knows-how-many Formula BMWs, F3 cars and so-on, they can probably got together an F1 car.
They really need to put it in the rules that the teams have non-confusable colour schemes, as the Force India REALLY looks like a McLaren from a distance. |

There's an interesting assessment of the situation here, with a neat headline: http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns20455.html
I'd say the colour of the cars is more creamy orange, but either way it certainly stands out. When I first saw it, I was reminded of the original McLaren orange. |

[quote=egomeister]Hmmm, I'm not so sure about that.

Now that's a colour scheme I'd like to see in F1! |

That orange would look good in F1 - that's proper Bruce McLaren orange.
Sonangol don't exactly look like muppets, if they don't pull the money out after three races they could possibly get together for 2010 if Mygale could start to do an F1 car ... |

Interesting thought - would McLaren get in the way of Mercedes supplying engines to Ultimate?
