TKR Cash Injection??
Have just received word, though can't prove reliability, that TKR has received a cash injection, possibly from an estate settlement or a bequeath.
Have heard that it could possibly be as much $3 million which would have them sitting very pretty indeed. Can anyone confirm or deny this...as I have to confess a degree of scepticism due to the significantly large number. |

Given your past history dealings with him , I am sure if you emailed David J and asked him yourself, he would be more then happy to answer your question.

Why would this necessarily be the case? TKR would be established in a corporate structure wouldnt it, so how would the team principal achieving some kind of income, if it is indeed true, in his personal world affect TKR specifically?
That the team is taking delivery of Paul Morris' 2003 Sirromet VY VY Aurora confirmed in MN is a big step forward for this team, but I doubt it is dependent on the above.... |

Mates were speaking to the mighty kiwi DJ ( although I think he is an Aussie)last weekend and he indicated there had been a deal done.I think you will find that he is in with the Porters and may well find a bit off Hydraulink pesos as well.I know that the car that hydraulink run in NZ does not come with much freight from them and is slipping back through the field accordingly. They have recently sent their.NZ general manager to Aus so an increased Skippy exposure would not surprise.Porters have got a few ringits.Might be why we see Baird putting around in a GT3

Mr Keen - The story I heard came from someone in the Placemakers family. He felt that it was some money left from an estate especially to TKR.
Hydraulink/Porters are increasing into Australia with Mark being based there fairly permanently. It seems that pinning TKR down would be a wise move as the Hydrualink lot realise the value of the Porters and they have a fairly longstanding relationship. The Porters have worked very hard for what they have got and now it's time to enjoy some fruit! Bloody good on them too (And Mr Keen - You are 100% right - The Mighty Kiwi DJ is an Aussie, though is apparently loathed to admit it for some strange reason) |

Hi All
I don't think DJ is loath to admit his aussie heritage, he just seems sick of having to justify himself to all the knockers and ********s who didn't have the balls to do what he has done |

I agree that Mr Johns deserves every bit of credit for establishing the leading light as far as a team is concerned in NZ.I know when OTR set out they specifically intended to replicate the TKR local presence and used them as their benchmark. It is good to see locally that probably several teams are now at that standard and in some case surpasing it.Accolades to TKR for starting the roll.

It certainly is great to see an NZ car emblazoned with the mighty Silver Fern in the V8 Supercar Series.
For sure, with Mark Porter's input, things are looking good at TKR for 2004. |
