Rallyday 2010
It's nearly that time of year again! Rallyday at Castle Combe is on the 18th of September, Guy Wilks will be there with an S2000 Skoda and Latvala will also be there in Ken Blocks Focus WRC.
Any ideas which of the rallycrossers will be there? The Rallyday site mentions that there will be some (Swifts are mentioned but I'd expect others as well?). Anybody going out on the circuit or to watch? |

Good to see you got the car sorted for Rallyday Mark
There were plenty of RX150's and Swifts as well as Marks Xsara, David Binks Fiesta, Preddies Tigra and Tapscotts Corsa. I caught some of the rallycross track action (was wandering around the paddock when I heard them out on circuit) but didn't get any pics of the rallycross stuff. I did get some from the lunchtime feature stage stuff, I'll put a couple up when I get them off the camera. Our Escort is definitely not suited to Combe! It was flat out in 6th before getting halfway down any of the straight bits, really could have done with some chicanes being put out to make it a bit more interesting for drivers and spectators. If they just left the feature stage set up out all day it would have been better for us (although I suspect the track day Evo and Impreza drivers would not have been impressed ). |

Interesting - I'd assumed in was #2 from that list (without checking the reg number). According to that list #11 is "Disassembled" and in Germany - neither seems to be the case assuming the reg number on the car is correct (of course it's quite possible that it's running the wrong reg number if it's only used for displays now rather than being driven on the road at all).

That would explain the conflict with the list of known S1's - do you know any more about the Audi shown above? Is it built from a road car or is it based on a competition shell?

Looks like a cracking day at Combe, judging by this video:
