I'm sorry to say it is true,
![]() He had won the 600cc and 750cc superbike race and was leading the 125cc race when he crashed on Lap 2. This guy was one of the true legends of motorcycle racing and is a sad loss ![]() |

Yes Marcus, a sad day for many, especially for the family of Yer Maun. Words cannot even begin to describe the feelings...

I can remember Joey racing in the IoM from his early days in the Southern 100. He was one of the boys and didn't seem to take too quickly to being a works rider, prefering instead to sleep in the back of his van with his bike. This, I believe, is one reason for his popularity. The other reasons are his consistant wins. His loss is total.

Joey Dunlop was a great rider. Especially at the Isle of Mann. He won a record 26 times there. He also had both an OBE and an MBE for humanitarian work that he did.
