FC Euro Series

Does anyone know if the FC Euro series will still be run?

Since they were said to run Reynard chassis, i wonder how the future of this series os.

The calendar hasn't change a lot either it seems:
July 21 1 + 2 Imola Italy
August 25 3 + 4 Mondello Ireland (Provisional)
September 15 5 + 6 Nürburgring Germany
September 21 7 + 8 Assen Netherlands
October 5 9 + 10 Silverstone Great Britain

Does anyone know it?

Let's hope it doesn't run. The single seater market is surely saturated especially with the new Formula Nissan thingy? It can only be bad news

Ye it ran last year, but what a poor show it was. I am sorry for the good guys that organized it, but i agree with Chris that the market CANNOT handle another series.

No I was wrong....
According with Autosport.com : Reigning French champions Olympique Lyonnais have become the sixth football team to sign up for the Premier1 Grand Prix single-seater series, which is scheduled to kick off next year.

Perhaps we should have a european series combining the three "dead" formula using Reynard chasis!

A "full" grid from Formula chrysler, Premier Gp & the challenge inititive! I'm sure it would be a great entertertainment, NOT!!!

No it is not its the FC (Formula Chrysler) Euroseries.
Exactly what the 'challenge inititive' involves I have never found out. There was a thread here about it which became so abusive it was deleted. No cars were ever seen.

The challenge inititive, was I believe, a rahashing of ideas that failed over 25 years ago, just check the published regulations on their website.

The series owners basicly wanted to destroy the current uk racing structure, indeed that had a "spokesperson" who took great pleasure in both attacking people who dared to doubt the vadidity and need for their product, but frequently attacked the current series, especially F3.

Perhaps the series will run, but I doubt if it will be within the lifetime of any of us here.

Formula Chrysler is not the Challenge Initiative. I think it was originally reported that the "Challenge Initiative" would run the FC Euro Series Reynard chassis, without the front wings (!), but this was incorrect, and the Challenge Initiative was in fact going to have its own chassis (also without front wing) from Reynard.

I wonder what the FC Euro Series cars will be used for if the series is dead as it seems? Last year there was a rumour that they could be used in a Formula Holden 'spec' formula in Australia to boost low grids (I believe at the time suggested for this year, which never happened).

FC Euro Series is evidence that there is no need for any other series at this kind of level, also witness the apparent failure of the Italian Formula 2 series to get off the ground (the official website - http://www.formula2.info/ - stopped updating then just disappeared!)

We have International F3000, Euro 3000, the Nissan World Series V6 3000, all competing for drivers with budgets, and still Premier 1 GP and the new Formula Super Renault are planned for next year! And maybe that EuroLights oval racing F3000 hybrid project is still planned for '03? Something has to give, surely?!

The calendar at the FC Euro Series site still says:

July 21 1 + 2 Imola Italy
August 25 3 + 4 Mondello Ireland (Provisional)
September 15 5 + 6 Nürburgring* Germany
September 21 7 + 8 Assen Netherlands
October 5 9 + 10 Silverstone Great Britain

http://www.fceuroseries.com/

But no news, no results...

Why can't the people responsible for this site ever update it? It's pathetic when no-one knows for certain whether a series has been officially canned or not!

Mondello was supposed to host an FIA event with the FC Euroseries in it as well.

But Historic GT Cup, Historic Touring Car Challenge, Lurany Trophy for Formula Junior Cars planned to race on Mondello on August 25 were all cancelled.

Next race planned is Assen, but seeing the timing for Saturday and Sunday there is NO FC Euro series.

Where did you find this info hakkiman? The official site still hasn't been updated. Cheers.

The series looked a good formula, shame there was never a market for it in the first place. I wonder if the cars will be used somewhere else, it would seem stupid to waste them.
