Malloey Test Day June 25th

Definately a day for the conniseur, with the Historic Festival @ Brands over the weekend it was always on the cards that there would be some 'nice' cars out and so it proved.
The 'Tin Tops' went out first and the 'stars' were a March 707 Supersports, a Ferrari P4, a Lola T70, a Ford GT40 and a Can-am Chevron B36, they were joined by a 944, a Scimitar, 4 TVR's, a Ginetta G50, a Seat Leon, a Clio, an E-Type Jag and an XJS, a TR2Lotus Elise, a MX5 and a 911 GT3,

As the single seaters came out the rain started to fall but it was only a passing shower and didn't put off what in my opinion was the star of the morning, the bright orange Beta liveried ex Vittoria Brambilla March F1 car, this set a blistering pace from the start and by the end of the morning had got down to a 40.45 second lap which compares well to the outright Lap Record of 38.27 set by a Footwork Arrows in the 1997 BOSS series race.
It was joined by the usual collection of F.Ford 1600's including Dave Morgan driving Peter Dalys example. A F.Vee, a Delta F.Ford 2000, a couple of clubmen and a quick Formula Renault.

Only 1 Red Flag all morning and that was when the Ginetta G50 coasted to a halt on the start straight, all in all a cracking morning

I got there at 11.45 just in time to see the Ferrari and the Lola T70 -a long time since i've heard sounds like that around Mallory!

(I thought the Seat was a Cupra Dave.....)
