Rod Birley should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Bucking the trend

Just to let you know that the Track and Race saloon car championship is looking good for this year. With over 60 registrations and a full grid (plus reserves) at Brands Hatch on April 16th, it is bucking the trend of dwindling numbers. The full list of entries are displayed on my website at www.rodbirley.com (calender section). There are some interesting new cars turning out including a Ford Focus V8 for John Cross, "Racing 59" with his V8 Vauxhall, Peter Thurston's re-built Escort V8, Toyo champion Nick Williamson in a rapid Peugeot 205, several quick Minis from Bill Richards' stable to challenge last year's champ Jason Watkins, and at least three more Cosworth Sierras/Sapphires. It should be good. The rest of the Britcar meeting is almost full as well.

Sounds flipping great Rod.

Sadly, April 16th has to be a day of rest (it's the wife's birthday)(mind you, she had one around the same time last year). Hope all the marshals (and drivers etc) enjoy what sounds like a great meeting.

Unfortunately Indy circuit, which is why our races filled up.....only 30 starters allowed. At least people can see all the action though.

Looks like a good series. Instead of going to France they should come north to Croft or Knockhill

Its the 7 or 10 hour journey each way that they wouldn't like. Can get back from France in just over 3 hours. We take the championship where the drivers want to go and as most of them are southern based it seems logical. Hopefully you will get a visit from the BARC n/w series this year.
