Toll/HSV and HRT grouped
Haven't seen mention of this in another thread yet. Story has it that Toll/HSV racing and HRT have been grouped and now there are some really unhappy campers.

An insider tells me that HRT and HSV have voluntarily submitted to grouping, and will test together at Winton in '06.
Apparently the two teams approached TEGA to seek clarification on grouping provisions, and were subsequently informed there could be a case to answer. As a result, the teams didn't contest the finding and put their hands up to be grouped. The test schedule for Winton on Monday and Tuesday shows that each team will run one car per day over the two days. |

Good news in one sense, bad in another. They will just spend more on off track testing. What about the "other" team??
Would have been better to lift the grouping from Britek and let them get on with it. |

Are there any other teams that should be grouped?

Maybe all the Holdens in one group, and all the Fords in the other. They do share a common badge on the front of the car!

Sounds like hear we go again, One rule for HOLDEN and a different rule for FORD and tega back the Holden rule. Feel sorry for BIRTEK & FPR they get screwed over again. |

How do you reach that conclusion, TSR? They've both been grouped, so what's different about the way they have been treated?

Last time I herd ( less things have changed ) BIRTEK were not alowed to test because the powers to be at TEGA think that both FPR & BIRTEK are one team. |

Well, there's no doubt in my mind that HRT and HSV will share data and that is still against the rules. How will TEGA handle this??

Surely if they are grouped they must be allowed to share data????? If FPR choose not to share with Britek, well that just sounds like *******ry (irrespective of the *******ry that prevents Britek from testing on their own anyway....).
Also, who decides that FPR can test but Britek cannot, rather than the other way round? Wouldn't it be just as reasonable to allow Britek to test and not FPR? |

Whether a team is officially grouped or not has no bearing on whether they can share information or not.
How would anyone know if any of the teams are sharing information? Considering most teams rarely have two identical cars at any one point in time, not to mention driver preferences, how much data sharing is really worthwhile anyway? |

Given the way the competition rules are being written and interpreted, it looks more as if it is rigged than if it isn't. |

Won't matter anyway. Can anyone really see this issue having an negative effect on HRT/Toll? They will still be at the pointy end regardless.
On the other hand, the team that could benefit most from testing (BRITEK) struggle along under this rule. If you ask me, the bottom dwellers should be given dispensation to test more, in the hope of some real improvement and the spirit of an even competition. If they are not good enough to convert the testing data into race results, well that's another issue, but barring them from the opportunity to do so seems unfair. |

FPR do not alow britek to test .It has nothing to do with Tega.FPR could elect to have one FPR and one Britek Car at test days.
The rule is the same for all teams . |
