Yeah I thought the same! There was also one Korean driver doing F. Renault BARC in the UK last year.

How did Mr. Choi do in F. Renault? I am a bit worried Korea will be all alone at the rear of the field next season.

In 2005 he was not bad. His team mate, Renger vd Zande, was really strong that year and Recardo had some good results as well.
I think in F3 he didn't do anything that special but I haven't followed very closely. |

Thanks Francis Albert. I've also just read he came fourth in German F3 last year with two wins, not a bad effort by any means.

I wouldn't call 2 wins and finishing 4th overall ( above, say, Christian Vietoris ) nothing special

He's more Dutch than Korean though, isn't he?

korea is welcome to the championship. asia needs new countries and well funded teams to beat the europeans and americas teams. we need to know who is going to backup korea but i would be very happy to seea strong team behind. team Erain from korea would be good. the most important ingredient is the people and they are proud to be koreanians and they race in formula asia V6 for so long and they know how to put those cars quick.

The main difference is that Recardo Bruins Choi was born in Seoul, but adopted at an early age by the Bruins family. He himself feels Korean though, and he races under a Korean licence, and when he won, the Korean national anthem was played.

Does he speak Korean? If so, he gets my seal of approval.

I don't know him personally, so I can't tell, but all of the sponsoring on his car last year was Korean, and his site is in Korean aswell (as an option)

Korea had their official launching yesterday revealing car livery and driver line up. A lot of glitz with runway fashion show and performances. Expect news in the press soon
