Which Side of the fence are YOU on ?
Whilst getting bored readin the bashing and banter here of the 2 camps, its quite common after this year to see the Ford supporters with their ears pricked up and having a sledge here or there, then again its a long time comming!
Being that HRT are supposedly the most popular team, it doesnt support well here on this website "at the moment" ! SO which side (if any) do you follow/support. MHDT aka (Brockie) fan born and bred here. Now HRT / Murph! (waits for the barage of stone throwing) |

I used to be in the Nissan camp when i was a young and impressionalble 7 year old. Then i followed Brock and Holden due to my uncle working as a mechanic for broke in the late 80's, and my other uncles father being involved with HRT.
I have followed Lowndes since he went to ford. I sort of have one leg either side of the fence now, and a fence pailing you know where ! |

I'm on neither side - and proud of it!!!
Frankly, all the Holden vs Ford rubbish is just that - it bores me to tears, and often plainly ticks me off. |

Lowndes Fan through and through.
Have followed him since that drive at Bathurst 1994. Neither holden or a ford fan, I drive both, although, I honestly believe Ford have been disadvantaged aero wise since pre-bathurst 1995. It's run by Holden people so of what do you expect. |

Started as a Moffat fan at 6 years of age (1978), solely as he was Ford's Hero Driver at that stage (came to appreciate Marvin's Magificence much later)... had no joy up until Queensland's Favourite Son crashed onto the scene in 1980. Still hold DJR near and dear, but enjoy watching good drivers regardless of their marque: of the current crop, I admire Ambrose, Lowndes, Jones, Bowe, Junior, Luffy, Steve Richo, Ingall, Seton... even appreciate Skaife sometimes!
Back in the days, I was mesmerised by Grice, LP, KB, AJ, JR, secondary to Dick Johnson, naturally... enjoyed it on the occasions that John Harvey got up over Brock.... thought Win Percy was damn good for a Pom.... ...still suffer chest pains if the Holdens win these days... Brocky won Bathurst the year I was born so I have followed him ever since in all activities he has been in. But since he retired I have followed his 1997 co-driver and the guy who took his seat at HRT - Mark Skaife.

Real Fords, not the rubbish they race around now under the banner of V8 Supercars.

Ford all the way.
The Ford vs Holden rivalry is the basis of V8Supercars (and the ATCC prior) so therefore highly important, definately not rubbish |

As a kid i was a Dick Johnson fan, especially in his Sierra days, i remember as a 6 year old loving every lap of the 1989 Tooheys 1000........
These days i'm not fussed (though if i have to choose it is still Ford), at least when DJ had the Sierra he had to beat more than just Holden's |

I probably go for folk who have come up through the QLD feeder system, guys like McLean and Wakefield. Don't know what to do in the V8 Utes because 2/3rds of the field started out in Geminis
I like to see Fords win, but a good hard race is pretty good. Sandown a couple of years ago was a corker, no fords in it. Also things like Murph's 2:06 can't be beat. |

As long as the racing's good, they can be Kia's for all I care. I just want to see the pinnacle of motor racing in Australia. I refuse to worship a particular type of car, simply because of the badge on it. Worse still, I won't dislike somebody simply because of the badge on the car that they are driving. Other than the shell, they are nothing like road cars anyway. |

It's sport as entertainment, or entertainment as sport. It's not the meaning of life. I wouldn't say that the current promoters created the 'Holden vs Ford' rubbish, but they're doing their best to whip it along, and like mac says, it bores me to tears. I'm still a Holden supporter, but when Holden or HRT or Mark Skaife don't win, the only sad part for me, is the **** that follows on message boards - and likewise when they do win. |
