Just to clarify for everyone. There will be no hard/control tyres at Winton/Barbagallo races. ie. ALL SOFT/Sprint tyres. Should see some nice new lap records and also some track damage!

But a combination of both sprint and control tyres will be used at various other events.

V8SC website seems to disagree with you on that.

Quote:
The format for both the events will remain the same as the other sprint events and each car will be allocated 20 Sprint tyres, along with eight used control tyres or in the case of rookies or drivers in the lower half of the Championship, 12 used control tyres.

It says "used" control tyres - so the teams can bring their own tyres for practice I guess. A bit silly to practice on different tyres than those you're going to race on though.

Allocated seems to give the impression they are given them, not allowed to use their own.

In slightly unrelated news, has the tracks contracts changed now that the super grippy tyre will be used all weekend, thus damaging the track
