Why only one pit crew
How come each F1 team is only allowed to have one pit crew? If each team had two pit crews, not only would it solve any problems with one of the drivers having to stay out for an extra lap, but it would also be exciting to see the two cars being refuelled at the same time if the battle for the WDC is between, say the two Williams drivers like in 1996. What do you think?

The problem relates to space. Teams need a much larger area to work in than ChampCars, and the existing garage areas are divided team by team in such a way that doesn't allow for space for both cars at once.

even champ cars need a area for their pit stops twice the length of the pit garages just so they can pit 2 team cars at the same time.

i thought that each driver had his own "crew" but there was only 1 space for them to work in, thats why both cars don't come in at the same time unless there's a major problem!

It has to do with the rules. F1 is actually a "team" sport. Each team runs 2 drivers and 2 cars, but is given only one pit space.
They use the same pit crew for both drivers, but have different groups of mechanics and engineers to work with the individual driver/car. (in most cases) |

except for ferrari, who dedicate the whole pit to TFG and have rubens car tucked away in the corner,neglected
