Sylvania 300
The NASCAR Nextel Cup begins the “Chase for the Championship” at New Hampshire International Speedway with the Sylvania 300. Ten drivers will race with each other in ten races to determine this year’s champion. However, they will not be alone on the racetrack as the usual number of 43 cars will also race.

hurricane ivan washed out qualifying - starting line up is done in points order
what better way for the chase to start than with the top 10 all at the front tony stewart or matt kenseth for me, unless jeff gordon blows everyone away |

I would love to see Matt Kenseth win and the most races= the title.
That would put an end to the chase for the cup, afterall it was introuducd after Matt had a 400 point lead last September. |

I feel sorry for Jimmy Spencer and Ricky Rudd. They were both having their best days of the season and mechanical problems forced them out of the race.

Yeah Robby Gordon was pretty stupid in the race. After the race he "flipped the bird" to some reporters and pushed one of them out of the way. Therefore I would expect that he probally eliminated any chance of returning to RCR next year. I'm hoping that means Dave Blaney might have a ride next year. The link below describes what Gordon did.

The really stupid thing was saying on the radio that he was going to get Biffle. Otherwise he might have got away with it.
I think this'll be the last straw for Childress. Sponsors don't like this sort of publicity. Still, it'll give someone else a chance in a good car. Hope Robby enjoys being a full time Busch driver!. |

I don't think RG would have got away with it, it was obvious he did it on purpose without the radio chatter. Finally NASCAR do something and park him for two laps.
If I was Robbie Gordon I'd be asking how come they've never done the same to Tony Stewart when he's been responsible for a number of similair incidents. I suppose it was poetic justice that Tony Stewart got caught in it really. |
