Robin Plummer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I note that CART would like to change the aerodynamics on the cars (AGAIN) and reduce the engines to 1.8 and use air restrictors. What on earth for? The cars are no more powerfull than about 6 years ago and there is nothing wrong with the racing and or overtaking? Even the engine manufacturers are happy. So why change? If it aint broke don't fix it!

I didin't think they were mkaing 900 hp 6 years ago, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.

"there is nothing wrong with the racing and or overtaking?"
On road courses and superspeedways. But for the last 2 years, short ovals have been a joke. And on the superspeedways, while the racing is good, the move is to slow the cars for safety, not for the better show.

1.8 L turbo is the way to go. By adjusting the boost, you can still have 900 hp on road course where it's a drop in the bucket, but can lwoer speeds for safety and passing on ovals. CART would've goen to it 2 years ago if they weren't so gutless and naive in hoping TG would reconvile.

Well there is a simple solution to the lack of passing on short 1 mile ovals simply drop them. There too small for Champ Cars and let go karts use them as there more suitable for that type of track!

P.S 6 Years ago 1994 The Pesnke Mercedes at Indy using a 3.3 ohv engine produced 1026bhp in qualifying!

Yeah, but that was the trick engine, gotta love that unfair advantage. SUch ingenuity.

BUt the 1 milers have seen some great racing as recenty as 98, CART's just messed up on a wing package. Besides, even if you dropped them, CART's engine formula is pretty dated, 1.8L turbo would allow more flexibility for the future

Well apart from lossing some torque I don't suppose the power levels will drop for long with a 1.8L. Remmember the 1.5L turbos in F1!
