F3 Euroseries: Zandvoort
Round 15 and 16 from the Euroseries F3 are comming up. Jamie Green joins the grid, he replaces Belgiums Jan Heylen. Ryan Briscoe is clear leader of the championship, he is now 32 points ahead of Austrias Christian Klien (57pts for him, 89 for Briscoe). Briscoe can win the championship here, but than he needs to win a lot of points this weekend. You can score maximum of 22 points in a weekend (10 for a racewin, 1 bonus for pole). So, when will Briscoe take the title do you think?

When Briscoe sews up the Title it will mean two Aussie Champs out of the three major F3 Championships in the world with James Courtney having recently clinched the Japanese title. And next year Will Power will take the British title! With F3 gaining strength down under as well including a support race at the 2004 AGP the world is our oyster!

INTERVIEWS:
1. Christian Klien (Mücke Motorsport): "It was a tough race, especially the safety car phase was difficult, as the engine temperatures were running quite high. Of course, Ryan Briscoe’s problems were my luck. This weekend is very important for me. I still have all the chances to compete for the title. There are still five races, so I can score many points.“ 2. Bruno Spengler (ASM): “I don’t know exactly how Briscoe’s spin came about. Fortunately, I didn’t have anything to do with it. Today, we had a few problems together: it was hot, the track was difficult to drive, the safety car phase did the rest. Tomorrow, we want to be faster in any case, it should be better.” 3. Olivier Pla (ASM): “I had a lot of oversteer, especially on the faster corners. Unfortunately, that was all I could do. Tomorrow, it should be better, when we have made some changes on the car.” 5. Robert Doornbos (Team Ghinzani): “I had a good start and moved to the inside line right away. That allowed me to overtake five cars. I was always right behind Markus, but I had no chance to get past. At the re-start, I had to be careful not to lose fifth place.” 17. Ryan Briscoe (PREMA Powerteam): “My start wasn’t that great and then Alexandre hit my rear tyres on the first corner. Then, I spun. Of course, that made me lose valuable championship points. But that is what motorsport is like.” Alexandre Prémat (ASM): “At the start, I didn’t get away that well and dropped back behind Bruno and Ryan. As the two steered into the first corner, I had no place to go in the middle right behind them and there was contact between Ryan’s and my tyres.” |
