Garrett should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2007 75th 24 Hours of Le Mans!!!

Well, the 2006 running is complete as Audi won with their diesel powered V12, RML taking LMP2 victory, Corvettes achieving a hat trick in GT1, and Panoz recording a surprise GT2 win.

Yet, next year is on its way! Many news projects are to come for 2007, Peugeot to be the biggest challenger with a coupe proto for next year to face Audi! What kind of a duel will evolve from these two manufactures with their diesel power!!!

Also, Tertre Rouge corner is to change! What kind of effects that will play on the distance and speed of the cars?

2007 looks to be a very interestering race to come and hopefully a great battle between Audi and Peugeot and other cars! I have only touched base on just a couple of subjects for 2007, so feel free to add whatever you want for the 2007 LM24!!! See ya at LM next year!

I think Peugeot will be slaughted by Audi next year Audi is 1 year ahead in development and have a huge amount experience. They will sort out all reliability problems with the new drive train.

Excellent points, plus Audi has the edge in the Funding and R&D departments.

Also, they should have the Traction Control System in place. This whole event the Audi's ran without the help of Traction Control (props go to the drivers too, because that takes skill and talent, especially with the ACO "No Tire Spinning when leaving the pits" rule in place this year).

Well, that sometimes happens, but I think ACO was referring to the well known smoky burnout type exits. There was a 3 minute "stop and go" penalty for it.

I have to assume that since the French are very nationalist (per se, and no offense intended), that a bond will be forged between Pescarolo and Peugeot. Peugeot's engine looked really nice though, and is pretty powerful too.

If you expect to be running for race victories, 3 years is a realistic shelf life for a chassis. If they produce a car in house, the tub, engine etc. can be carried over to therir 2010 chassis.

The only reason the R8 and Courage C60/Pescarolo were around so long was the lack of factory competition to push development forward.

Many front running teams in Grand AM and other 'spec' series change chassis every year.

Peugeot are hot from the WRC, were they developed 4wd systems, active differentials, semi-auto gearboxes, active suspension, traction control etc.

They also arived in 1999 after 13 years absence and were immediatly pacesetters.

True, and that makes me think up a question.

Sebastien Loeb. WRC guy, raced for Pesca this year. Think he stays with Henri, or jumps ship?

Esactly JAG, Peugeot know what it takes to compete and complete at le mans.
Who knows, i'm gonna taker a 50/50 guess and say that he'll stay, although i'll wait untill the new season is underway, then i may change my prediction

Anybody think Pesca could run/buy a GT1 project for a year before being the first customer Peugot team? Not sure what they would buy, but almost positive the DBR9s would be out of the question for any french team. Maybe a C6R customer car to do battle with Alphand Adventures? Could make for a GREAT GT1 battle.
And a question from the land of only diesel trucks and Jettas, what kind of outlook is there for a GT1 or GT2 diesel car in the future? If the regs were changed to allow diesels outside of LMP1.

I don't know if diesel would really fit that category though. Because seriously, how many production supercars are diesel??? I can't think of any to be honest.

Pescarolo might not even have to look any further than the brands they are already currently running - Courage and Judd. The new works LMP1 wasn't exactly great this year but it is a whole new car afterall. May yet be ideal for them to hang around with whilst waiting for a works or better customer deal comes along...

Running a customer RS Spyder might not be the most unlikely outside bet. Pescarolo have shown they know how to get complex machinery to the finish (a distinct issue with the RS Spyder), already use a Porsche factory driver in Manu Collard, Henri's won with Porsche before (in 84 with Klaus Ludwig in the Joest 956), and I'd like to think they could get a degree of factory backing for a European campaign.

As I say, I'd see this as an outside bet. I think the most likely is he'll manage to get the finance to buy a replacement tub (KWM perhaps - they'll have to produce a few for Creation, ProTran etc, and it only needs to pass the crash test once) and hang a body not entirely dissimilar to this year's C60 (with the obvious rollhoop modification) on it and yet again play the role of harrying Audi in LMP1. He's done so much work developing the C60 that I can't see him wanting to start completely from scratch. Looking further down the road I'd love to see it with a customer Peugeot diesel in it, but I really don't see this as being on the cards for next year.
