2014 turbos
Does anyone know what kind of regulations there will be regarding the actual turbo chargers next year? Will VGTs be allowed, are single turbos required or can multiple be fitted if a manufacturer decides? That kind of stuff.

Which would technically be doable, but would probably result in twitter going into meltdown.
I think that the aim is to do as good a job as a VGT, but without a VGT. This is why the turbo will be spun up by use of an electric motor/generator, rather than varying the vanes in the turbo. It's more controllable than a VGT as well as providing a source for power generation. Last edited by Marbot; 25 Apr 2013 at 17:36. |
