Jason Plato?

Does anyone know what Jason Plato (Pluto) is doing for this year the last I heard he was looking for a NASCAR drive. Its a pity nobody in this country has snapped him up for a drive.

Sadly, apart from GTs there's nothing out there these days. Still, I might have a two driver race in the Capri coming off at Spa in September.

Oh well... at least he has his presenting career to concentrate on now - many drivers end up with nothing!

At the end of the day plato was a crowed puller last you and as much as I hated his driving tactics to win the championship he will be missed….

The nascar thing has been going on for years I don’t think its going to happen for a while yet..

i doubt he'd get a NASCAR seat anyway. most of the teams are struggling to fund experienced oval racers this year without trying to fund a little known brit!

Exactlty. Besides, Nascar owners tend to be very particular in a way with the drivers they choose . To be frank, A British driver is not going to be on their hot lists, as much as I would love to see him race here.

Yeah, as much as a swine he could be, he is a class driver. i think people forget that he's the champion sometimes, and with all the pushing and shoving, he drove excellently in most races. Plato and Tom Boardman seemed to often b the scapegoats ofthe championship last year.

No, but it wouldn't suprise me if he only did a couple of events in a variety of categories this year.

I am increasingly convinced he will be involved in the BTCC in 2002... but not as a driver. There was quite some debate recently about whether ITV would want John Watson and Charlie Cox to continue to commentate on the series next year... I believe that one of these is on their way out (I can guess which one) and that JP will fill the gap they leave.

Sad really, as I had been looking forward to Muller kicking his arse next year in response to finishing runner up in 2001!

Its dissapointing when the best seat the champion of a series can get for the next year is in the commentary box!

Watching him interview Muller would be interesting...

Plato: So Yvan who do you feel are your main rivals this season?

Muller: NOT YOU!!!!

Jason Plato doing commentary next to Charlie Cox sounds exciting. I would support it but I might miss John Watson.

Um I think Pip was being sarcastic when he posted 'Yeah tragic'!!!
As for Plato having a better sence of humour than Cleland.
