Sparky should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

I was playing the Playstation tonight, (trying to out-qualify Coulthard at the Nurburgring of course!)
and I realised that the majority of my games were either driving or racing games. I expect that my list is similar to most of yours. I've printed my list, not to boast, but to ask if I'm missing any good ones.

Circuit Breakers
Colin McRae Rally
Destruction Derby 2
Driver
F1 '97
F1 '98
F1 '99
F1 2000
Felony 11-79
Formula 1
Gran Turismo
Gran Turismo 2
Grand Theft Auto
GTA London
GTA 2
Max Power Racing
Micro Machines V3
Monaco Grand Prix
Motorhead
NASCAR '98
NASCAR '99
Newman Haas Racing
Porsche Challenge
Rage Racer
Ridge Racer type 4
Rollcage
S.C.A.R.S.
Speedster
Test Drive 5
The Need For Speed
The Need For Speed 2
The Need For Speed 3
The Need For Speed 4
TOCA Touring Car Championship
TOCA 2 Touring Cars
Tommi Makkinen Rally
V Rally
V Rally 2
Vigilante 8
Wip3out
WipeOut 2097

I also have these on my PC;

Grand Prix Legends
Screamer
Prost Grand Prix
NASCAR Racing
Indy Car Racing
Network Q Rally

I don't have a 3D graphics card in my PC yet, so I tend to use my Playstation more for those types of games.

Go on then. What am I missing?

Thanks.

Wow! We have remarkably similar lists, Gerard; You have fine taste!

Gerard, what did you think of 'Prost GP'?

I didn't have much joy with that one. Is it because I don't have the right graphics card, do you think?

Sparky, I didn't especially liked the game either.
It seems that it has been 'put' together in a great hurry.
The graphics are not very special as is the gameplay.
But I had to have it since I'm a collector of racegames.

I don't think that any graphics card could improve the game, it's just not that good.

Although, a good 3D Card is essential nowadays, so in order to enjoy the games fully, I think it's the first thing you should buy.

I've never really considered a 3D accelerator, Gerard, although I would like to if only to play a better game of Grand Prix Legends!

It's a shame when greats put their names to shoddy goods I think. The star, Prost in this case, knows all there is to know about their field of expertise, but precious little about PC gaming, I suspect. I wonder if Prost regretted it, or if he's forgotten the whole deal?

Apart from GPL, are there any other PC games that are worth the purchase price of a 3D card? (bearing in mind I have the Playstation)

Thanks Gerard.
By the way, could you tell me where I might fing a games forum Moderator? I heard they were here, but it appears the place is unattended Perhaps they're too busy playing Muppet Racer!

Sparky, you must buy Grand Prix 2, one of the very few realistic racing games available, and certainly the most editable.

For my PSX:

Formula 1 ('96)
Gran Turismo
Micro Machines v3
TOCA 1
TOCA 2

and I did borrow Total Driving for bloody ages from my brother!

also worth a mention are the motorbike levels in Crash Bandicoot 3!

There is no doubt TOCA is the best and to be honest I rate the first one above the second.

I didn't like Crash Team Racing - it seems a bit sluggish. Speed Freaks and Muppet Race Mania are both better.

GO MUPPETS!

I ripped most games from twilights, but then I got a nasty virus 3 weeks ago and all is gone, serves me right, I shoud've gotten legal games.

I'm in the rebuilding proces now, got a cracked Need for Speed 3 (I'm gonna regret this) and F1-97, wich I have legally and wich I enjoy even though it's pretty old.
I've got to get Grand Prix Racing Simulation back because it had the most extensive and realistic car setup utility I've ever seen.

The other ones worth to remember:
Grand Theft Auto
Driver
Revolt (radio controlled cars, very cool)
Lego racer was a lot of fun too

Hi,

Sorry for my lack of absence. Been very busy lately. I have for my psx:

F1,
F1 97,
F1 98,
F1 99,
GTA
GT2
GTA London
Toca 2 and
Ridge Racer Type 4

And for my PC,

Micro Machines 2
Network Q Rally
Grand Prix 2 and
Grand Prix Manager 2 (Don't know if this counts)

Bl00dy hell Sparky and Gerard. You must have plenty of money to buy all those racing games! I hope that posts in this forum pick up soon and I'll make it my mission to make that happen.

P.S. What's happened to G-R? Exams?

David is right, Grand Prix 2 is still the best racing game despite not having all the gadgets that modern racing games have.
The fact you can edit almost everything you want makes it very attractive.
I sure do hope when Grand Prix 3 arrives (next month??) it has the same gameplay.

Sparky, almost all modern racing games need a 3D card to really enjoy the game fully.
You can never experience what it is like to race in the wet without a good graphics card.
It adds a certain atmosphere to the game.

yeah, grand prix 2 is the best!
and looking for gp3 too!
but one big problem, similar problem with gp2 when it was released, is the power of the pc you will need in order to run the game properly!!!
download the AMAZING mpg from www.alfaf1.com/gp3
i reckon it requires a PIII 900MHz!!!! ...ok, maybe not quite 900MHz but you know my meaning...

and one more little thing, is the season it will be based on- 1998!!! but there are many people who will do the patch for 2000 in no time, really appreciate those people's effort!

go gp3!

GRAND PRIX 2!!!!!!!!!

Only this very evening, I was POUNDING round Bathurst, the greatest circuit in the world, in Jean Alesi's 1995 Ferrari. 870bhp of pure poetry! Yesterday I was (my hero) Luca Badoer in last year's quite, quite awful Minardi being kicked to smithereens at Hockenheim. The day before I was cleaning up the field as Bruno Junqueira in this years F3000 at Snetterton (I am a Norfolk boy!).

If you can find me another racing game with unlimited tracks, unlimited drivers and infinatly editable, I'd like to know about it!
