Lydden Winter Series Rallycross 28th November cancelled

Ive just found out that it seems that the planned rally cross for the end of November (28th) seems to have been cancelled.

It seems that we will have to wait til next year now for the Jan event.....

Thanks for the heads-up Tom,

Hmmm - no explanation on their web site, and the calendar has been cleared of the 2nd Jan / 6th Feb dates too.

I see from another thread that it may become
23rd January - Lydden TBC
14th February - Mallory (confirmed) - this announced at Mallory last month
3rd round - Lydden TBC

Presumably, messing about with dates might reduce the number of entries too - I'm sure drivers are like marshals and don't just keep their diaries clear waiting until organisers get around to telling us?

Having published 3 dates that now all appear to have been dumped, it would have been good manners to put a short note on their web site making it clear that they've been dropped

Oh well, still got 30/31 May in for ERC ........

I think the request came from some of the leading drivers who need to have their cars in a fit state for the Autosport show - one of the few real opportunities to promote the sport to a wider audience. Plus Lydden need to fit in work on the track.

Its never good when plans have to change but Amy Doran has said on the Rallycross forum that there will be a press release on the website soon.

I'd suggest that if you were hoping for the Jan event this year, there might have been a flaw in your plan

Sorry, possibly being a bit dim here (it has been known) but looking at the Rallycross forum there is an entry from RallyX (who I'm fairly certain may be Amy Doran) saying that the date will be 23rd Jan.... that would seem to be next year to my reckoning as per my original posting..... unless you know something I don't......

ANyway, fingers crossed for the 23rd Jan..... I need a Rally cross fix!

Sorry, poor attempt at being amusing failed miserably. I'll get my coat.
